To reduce the spread of , the United States is extending restrictions on non-essential travel at our land and ferry crossings with Canada and Mexico through July 21, while ensuring access for essential trade & travel.

DHS also notes positive developments in recent weeks and is participating with other U.S. agencies in the White House’s expert working groups with Canada and Mexico to identify the conditions under which restrictions may be eased safely and sustainably.

Year after year, nearly 3,000 people visit Arizona emergency rooms because of heat-related illnesses. Some heat-related illnesses can even be fatal. Over 2,000 deaths from exposure to excessive natural heat have occurred in Arizona from 2010-2020. Wild caught shrimp from Mexico

Effective April 30, 2021, as per Federal Register Notice 2021-09077, “Section 609 of Public Law 101-162 (“Sec. 609”) prohibits imports of wild-caught shrimp or products from shrimp harvested with commercial fishing technology unless certification has been granted by the Department of State. The Department of State suspended the certification of Mexico because its sea turtle protection program is no longer comparable to that of the United States.

Any wild-caught shrimp or products from shrimp harvested with commercial fishing technology from Mexico is not permitted entry into the United States.
