De Novo Sporthorses is proudly hosting Sue Kolstad for a riding clinic March 21-22 with limited private sessions available at our facility in Nokesville, VA.

Sue is a knowledgeable and experienced USDF certified instructor, S judge, and bronze, silver, and gold medalist. The clinic is open to horses and riders of all levels and to riders of other disciplines, as Sue's experience extends well into the hunter and jumper rings, as well as western dressage, driving, and endurance riding. De Novo Sporthorses has a rare opening for consignment or training board for one horse. 🐎

Conveniently located less than an hour from DC, De Novo offers a boutique facility in Nokesville, VA, complete with spacious stalls ensuring each horse gets their unique feed, fan when needed on those warm summer days, and attention to detail from knowledgeable eyes. Alfalfa pellets are facility provided in addition to owner’s choice of provided supplements. Horses will also enjoy ample turnout with 24/7 access to quality hay, shelters, heated water troughs, and horsey friends. For you? A meticulously maintained 60x150 indoor arena, 100x200 outdoor arena with jumps, miles of trails, climate controlled tack room, and a (truly) no drama barn family. Oh, and of course, a barn-aisle chandelier. 🕯️

Onsite Head trainer Lauren Eaton offers full or partial training focusing on classical dressage and emphasizing harmony, correct biomechanics, and most importantly, happy and sound horses. Lauren is game to problem solve the “quirky” ones and specializes in making riding fun for everyone. She is goal-oriented and her current clients will attest that she improves everything she sits on. Lauren has her bronze (with distinction) and silver medals, has trained horses through I-1, started young horses under saddle, and is a current student of the L program as she pursues her gold medal and beyond.

Cheers to 2026, Year of the Horse!

“De Novo” roughly translates to “begin anew,” so it’s only fitting that we wish you a fresh trip around the sun filled with new challenges, adventures, successes, and growth. 🌱

Ironically, my resolution this year is to enjoy the failures along the way just as much, because any day spent with horses is one worth being grateful for. 🐴
