“Perseus” is Ready to Run!
Peter and Paul have been putting in work since day one.
And Well The M32 (Melisa), after 20k worth of repairs, runs amazing! Had to buy her new heels so she can play nice last week. Other than that… All is well, and April is looking promising. Found the time in the evenings to finish Installing the machine. Performed a full alignment, tested everything and some! Today I thought… Could use a day or two off to catch up on sleep, but who needs sleep when you’re having this much fun. So went ahead and completed a setup. This Citizen L20 is ready to run production. Holding .0001” as per usual.

“Beginning with the end in Mind”, this Citizen L20 will be online and ready to out perform some of the newer machines out there. Mainly due to my OCD when it comes to Full Machine Alignments. This is the step that many overlook, and a crucial factor towards producing quality and precision components. Plus the satisfaction of knowing what your machine is capable of producing when deciding what job is next.

Getting ready to show this 1998 Citizen L20 some proper lovin’ with a much needed full alignment. the Sub Spindle is high by .0014. Step 1: tackle the sub spindle to Main Spindle height. Then all else… but first need to remove this Live End Working Motor out the way, to reach into the 10mm bolts that hold the Sub Spindle down. Here is a quick “for educational purpose only” video. Please do not contact me for alignment questions.
As always contact your local dealership. The team at MCC and the support is above par, with offices all over.
Remember the main office is in New Jersey, there’s plenty of help out there, you simply need to know who to ask… anyone but me! I’m a nobody 😂 don’t mind me tearing my machines apart and rebuilding. Either you have deep pockets, or you get good at servicing your own machines. And let’s just say I’m really good at what I do for a reason. 😂 it will all come in due time… some day I will see that Porsche GT3RS outside my office parking lot, it won’t be mine…will probably be my neighbors, but hey someday I’ll see it 😂 all jokes aside, it has been an awesome last couple weeks in the shop, pumping out production and finding the time… late at night to do these quick videos to help the community. 316 S.S always leaves a beautiful finish. A bit tricky to keep it from warping when taking a heavy cut. Had some nasty .002 run out… there’s always a solution. Fortunately we had max land guide bushing (40mm) to rough and finish this neat part. Who doesn’t love to see those zeros’ (0.45000) on the Mitutoyo Micrometers. Solid day at the shop, pumping out production, completing first articles for the morning, done with writing programs for the rest of the week. Best of all, the Citizen L20 is powered up; and ready for me to begin the installation process. It’s becoming a pass time activity. Took a step back today, to admire the sacrifices, the vision and careful planning is in place. Cheer’s to begin the year, firing on all cylinders. Let’s go SwissPros!

Welp… would say it was an action packed Friday! However it’s now 12:15am Saturday morning finally winding down from a great week at the shop!
Brought in another L20 to increase capacity. Knocked out a neat medical long part, and of course some wire holes… hit the floor running, and firing from all cylinders.

Today’s the day we stop buying parts for the M32, and moving forward start making parts! 😂 decided to go all out and order replacement intelligent servos, a few KSE110’s, and holders for the angled holes. She’s fully tooled up and online once again ready for 2026.

Christmas came in early! Two Brand New Servos (Red Bottoms, if you will…) going to install them tonight. The Citizen M32 will then be fully repaired. Now to recover the investment. The turret is tooled up and ready to take on some of the most challenging components imaginable. Let’s Go SwissPros!
