Every agency is talking about Real-Time Crime Centers.

The agencies seeing the greatest results are investing in more than technology—they're creating purpose-built environments designed to support intelligence gathering, investigations, collaboration, and real-time decision-making.

That's where we come in.

From concept and design to furniture, AV, and technology integration, Fountainhead has helped agencies build RTCCs that are as effective as the people who work in them. Projects like the Anne Arundel County Police Department RTIC demonstrate how a well-designed environment can bring people, technology, and information together to support the mission.

As a turnkey provider, we simplify the process by delivering everything under one roof: One Contract. One Team. One Accountable Partner.

If an RTCC is on your roadmap, we'd love to share what we've learned and help you avoid common pitfalls along the way.

"We don't build control rooms. We build how it feels to run one."

That's our Director of Engineering, Tyler Danielson — and after years on every side of this industry (the software platforms, the AV Design, the Q-SYS/Crestron integration, and the custom programming that pulls it all together), he's earned the perspective to back it up.

What that looks like in practice:

• Any source on any display, anywhere in the facility
• Videowall scenes triggered by events, not just operator clicks
• Whole Room video teleconferencing at the press of a button — calls, content share, cameras, you name it
• Custom automation tied to the systems the customer already owns
• Operator workflows designed around how the room actually gets used

Hardware is table stakes. The experience on top is what wins.

CBS News/Anne Arundel RTIC

Real-Time Crime Centers and Real-Time Information Centers are rapidly becoming one of the most important operational assets in modern public safety - and the recent coverage of the Anne Arundel County Police Department’s Real-Time Information Center is a strong example of why.

The article shows how modern RTIC environments have evolved into true operational support centers - integrating video, analytics, live communications, and coordinated response tools to help teams make faster, more informed decisions in the field.

We’re proud to have been involved in helping bring this environment to life and to support agencies continuing to invest in technology and spaces designed around collaboration, responsiveness, and public safety.

A good reminder that behind every screen and every system is a team working together in real time to support both officers and the communities they serve.

What lies beneath a mission-critical decision-making environment matters more than most people realize.

Many control rooms are locked in the day they’re built and that’s a problem.

Technology changes. Workflows evolve. Teams grow. But when infrastructure is fixed, every change becomes costly and disruptive.

Better design starts below the surface.

Low-profile raised flooring eliminates the need for coring and keeps power and data flexible—so layouts can evolve and new technology can be integrated without tearing the room apart or significantly reducing ceiling height.

This isn’t about flooring. It’s about building an environment that evolves with the way decisions are made.

At Fountainhead Control Rooms, what lies beneath is just as intentional as what you see. If you’re planning a control room, ask yourself: Is your environment built for today—or built to evolve?

The Art of the Possible: Ergonomics, AV Design, and Performance Under Pressure

In mission-critical environments, AV integration plays a critical role alongside the physical workspace. When operators need to instantly call up and respond to changing situations, the system must deliver information clearly, immediately, and without delay—directly impacting decision speed, accuracy, and overall performance.

Good AV design isn’t about adding more technology. It’s about delivering the right information, in the right place, at the right time—so operators can process and act seamlessly.

True ergonomics is where AV and the physical environment come together—how information is presented, how operators interact with it, and how the space supports sustained focus and performance under pressure.

At Fountainhead Control Rooms, we don’t simply deploy technology into a space. Every AV system is purpose-built for the environment, the workflow, and the people using it. That’s where ergonomics, performance, and what we call the Art of the Possible come together.

Talk to us today about control room AV integration—and visit our showroom, the only working control room demo environment in the Southeast.

A stolen truck. Multiple crashes. A suspect changing clothes and heading for a light rail—thinking they got away.

They didn’t.

In Anne Arundel County, the Real-Time Information Center (RTIC) was already tracking the entire sequence live—coordinating detectives on the ground and a helicopter overhead to safely bring both suspects into custody.
This wasn’t luck. It was real-time decision support in action.

During its pilot phase alone, the RTIC supported nearly 200 incidents, giving officers critical information before they arrived on scene. Today, it’s a fully operational hub turning live data—from cameras, ALPRs, CAD, and more—into faster, safer outcomes.

At Fountainhead Control Rooms, we’re proud to have designed and delivered the environment behind it—bringing people, technology, and space together so decisions can happen without friction when it matters most.

"You only get one big bite at the budget."

When Dunwoody, GA built its Real Time Crime Center, they partnered with Fountainhead Control Rooms to get it right the first time. Fountainhead helped them look beyond cameras and gunshot detection to the often‑missed pieces—consoles, ergonomics, raised flooring, and cable paths - the infrastructure that becomes incredibly expensive to fix after the room is built.

In this clip, a Dunwoody PD leader explains how working with Fountainhead allowed them to future‑proof their RTCC and hit the ground running on day one. Watch the full Dunwoody RTCC case study to see how the design came together for their city. https://lnkd.in/eiRYmZMQ

We spend a lot of time talking about technology, consoles, and control room design. But this week is a reminder of what matters most.

Behind every setup, every screen, every system—there’s a person making critical decisions in real time.

National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week isn’t just about recognition.

It’s about understanding the environment these professionals operate in every day.

High stakes. Constant pressure. No margin for error.

Designing for that reality isn’t a luxury—it’s a responsibility.

Our appreciation goes out to those who sit in the chair and make it all work.

RTCCs aren’t the future — they’re the now.

We’re seeing a fundamental shift in how agencies approach real-time intelligence, response, and situational awareness.

In this conversation with Noah White at this year’s RTCC conference, one thing is clear:
👉 The agencies getting it right are aligning technology, workflow, and environment — not treating them separately.

That’s exactly where we focus.

At Fountainhead Control Rooms, we design spaces that don’t just house technology — they enable faster decisions, reduce fatigue, and support mission-critical performance 24/7.
