The thoughts and prayers of the members of Local 4134 are with the family, as well as our brothers and sisters at the Boston Fire Department as they mourn the loss of Firefighter Robert “BK” Kilduff Jr. Firefighter Kilduff was killed in the line of duty last night while operating at a 3rd alarm structure fire in Dorchester.

Your Firefighters are always happy to assist our towns other departments for positive outcomes! This rescue was called in as the ambulance was returning from the hospital. Engine 2, Ambulance 3, and Rescue 5 with personnel who responded to the station on a full recall along with the Deputy Chief responded.

This call adds to a busy week for your firefighters. The duty crew responded to 12 calls for service Monday, with 2 of those calls requiring mutual aid ambulances for transport.

This is why staffing matters. A major incident such as this fire in North Attleboro can completely deplete area fire departments of fire suppression apparatus and ambulances! Strong work by the members in North Attleborough to get this fire under control.

Our thoughts remain with everyone impacted by yesterday’s devastating 7-alarm fire on Juniper Road. While the smoke has cleared, there is a reality that must be addressed: Our department, along with our mutual aid partners, are operating at a dangerously thin margin. Yesterday, the men and women of D Platoon were forced to face every firefighter's worst nightmare. With two ambulances already tied up at the hospital, just nine personnel arrived on the initial scene of a large multi-unit structure fire.

These nine individuals did the work of thirty. They battled not just the flames, but the exhaustion of being severely under-staffed. To see what they accomplished with such limited manpower is a testament to their grit, their training, and their unwavering commitment to this town.

The politics of staffing don't change the physics of fire, but they certainly change the risks our members take. Despite being stretched to the breaking point, Local 1992 will continue to show up. We will continue to put our lives on the line for you, regardless of the numbers on the roster or the debates at Town Hall.

To the men and women of D Platoon: Your actions yesterday were a masterclass in professional bravery. Huge thank you to our mutual aid partners who flooded in to boost our lines: We quite literally could not have done this without you.

**FULL RECALL**

Engine 2 is on the way to Millis for a Second Alarm structure fire on Birch St.

Off duty Norfolk Firefighters have been requested to respond the cover the town.

A busy beginning of the week in this week. Crews had 24 different calls for service between Sunday and Monday, with multiple brush fires and a 2nd alarm structure fire in Wrentham on Monday evening.

Earlier in the shift Monday, the on duty crew was transporting a critical patient to BMC South while 3 additional calls for service were called in. Thank you to our off duty members and mutual aid partners who covered additional calls.

Norfolk firefighters assisted Walpole Firefighters IAFF Local 2464 today at their second alarm structure fire on Washington St. Crews from Norfolk assisted for roughly one hour, and off duty members were recalled to cover the town.
