If you're building a business in Nebraska, there's state funding designed to help you.

The Nebraska Business Innovation Act is a state program administered by the Nebraska Department of Economic Development. It funds approved organizations that deliver direct support to startups, and it includes programs that Nebraska businesses can apply to directly. Four programs are available:

- Nebraska Seed Investment Program: up to $500,000 in equity investment
- Nebraska Academic Research and Development Grant: up to $400,000
- Nebraska Innovation Fund Prototype Grant: up to $150,000
- SBIR/STTR Initiative: state matching funds for federal award recipients

Applications for most programs open July 1 and are accepted until funds are exhausted.
