Hey there! So, Norfolk Prevention Coalition got this cool thing called the FY2023 United for Equity grant. It's like winning a special prize from the United Way of South Hampton Roads for doing awesome stuff! We asked for some money, and we got it.
We work with the United Way and Community Partners to make our communities, Norfolk, Virginia Beach, Chesapeake, Portsmouth, Suffolk, and Isle of Wight in Virginia, a better and safer place. Imagine it like a big team of people who want to stop kids from using bad stuff.
The team's main goal is to get everyone in the community to work together and stop kids from using things they shouldn't. They have some cool plans to make this happen, like special strategies and ideas. For example, they might do things like teaching about the dangers of drugged driving or helping prevent problems with drugs like opioids.
So, in short, Norfolk Prevention Coalition got a prize to make their community awesome and keep kids safe by stopping them from using things that could hurt them. Go, team! 🌟
