Great neighborhoods rely on incredible programming to stay vibrant, connected, and dynamic. The Downtown Norfolk Council is looking for an organized, proactive, and strategic Events Manager to lead public and organizational events across downtown and the NEON District.
This position serves as the operational anchor for a diverse portfolio of events including the NEON Festival, The Grand Illumination Parade and the DNC Annual Meeting, managing everything from high-level budgeting and strategy to on-site ex*****on and vendor relations.
If you are a meticulous project manager, an adaptable problem-solver, and deeply passionate about creating inclusive, memorable experiences for DowntownNorfolk, this role offers the perfect platform to showcase your leadership skills.
Compensation: $55,000 – $70,000 based on experience and qualifications.

Shaping Place is the theme of this year’s Downtown Norfolk Council Annual Meeting & Celebration. The event’s visual design draws inspiration from what unifies the people of Downtown Norfolk. While everyone downtown has a different story, background, and set of interests, the unifying element is the place itself. A huge shout out to our Content Creator Sarah Gibson for designing this years event program. Join us June 4th for our Annual Meeting & Celebration Fundraiser 5:00-7:00pm at The Neon House.

Downtown just got a vibrant upgrade. We are proud to showcase new traffic signal box wraps designed by talented local 757 artists. Beyond beautifying our streets, these wraps serve a strategic operational purpose: they act as a natural graffiti deterrent and streamline maintenance for our operations team. A perfect blend of community art and urban efficiency.
