September’s Employee Spotlight celebrates our Culture Carriers. These are the people who help shape the kind of workplace we want Daycos to be.

This month, we’re proud to recognize Linda Matthies.

Linda was nominated for the way she consistently supports and develops those around her. Her teammates value not only her knowledge and experience, but the way she shares it by listening first, asking thoughtful questions, and encouraging others to find confidence in their own ideas and solutions.

Her nomination highlighted several Daycos values she brings to life every day, including Make this a great place to work, Fix the problem, be the solution, and Build relationships and reputation for the long term.

Ready to sleep better this September?

This month, the Daycos team is focusing on something we could probably all use a little more of: better rest.

Our September Wellness Challenge is built around two simple habits:
▪️ Go to bed within a consistent 60-minute window
▪️ Put the screens away 30 minutes before bed

Good sleep supports everything from energy and focus to mood and overall health, and building a better routine doesn’t have to mean completely overhauling your evenings.

We’re working on these habits throughout September, and we’re inviting you to join us!

Try them for the rest of the month and see what a little more consistency can do.

Happy Labor Day!

Today, we recognize the hard work, dedication, and contributions of people across our communities and industries. We hope you have a safe and relaxing holiday.

Our office is closed today in observance of Labor Day and will resume regular business hours tomorrow.

Two new faces, two new perspectives, and plenty of potential ahead.

Please join us in welcoming Sara Bennett, our new Executive Coordinator, and Joe Johnson, our Software Engineer Intern, to the Daycos team!

Joe joins us through the Wayne State College Career Scholars Program, where he is currently a senior, and Sara is stepping into a new role supporting our team and helping keep important work moving forward.

We’re glad to have you both here and can’t wait to see the impact you’ll make at Daycos. Welcome to the team, Sara and Joe!

Sometimes, the best way to see the impact of giving is to step onto the field.

Throughout the year, our Project Impact committee has been raising funds to support Norfolk Buddy Baseball. On Saturday, members of the Daycos team had the opportunity to volunteer at a game and see firsthand what those donations help make possible.

We traded fundraising for cheering, high-fives and a little time on the ballfield, and got a great reminder of why supporting organizations like Buddy Baseball matters.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to not only give back, but to show up, get involved, and be part of the impact happening right here in our community.

How long have you been sitting today?

For our August Wellness Challenge, the Daycos team is focusing on breaking up the workday with small bursts of movement.

This month, we've been working on building two simple habits:
▪️ Break up long periods of sitting by standing or moving for 5 minutes every hour (or 10 minutes every 2 hours).
▪️ Stretch for 5 minutes each day to work out some of those desk-day kinks.

You don't need an intense workout to add more movement to your day. A quick lap around the office, standing while you take a call, or a few minutes of stretching all count.

We asked our employees for their best advice for being successful at work.

“Wing it.” “Pretend to be sick.” “Chase the boys.” And, somehow, “hide inside tractor tires.”

Are these strategies we’d recommend? Probably not. But they seem to be working for our team.

With a little creative editing, back-to-school memories make for some truly questionable career advice.

We’re proud to celebrate Daycos Customer Experience Coordinator Danelle McKeown as she begins her journey with Leadership Nebraska Class XVIII!

Over the next eight months, Danelle will join leaders from across the state to explore the opportunities and challenges shaping Nebraska’s future, build meaningful relationships, and strengthen her leadership skills along the way.

We’re excited to see where this experience takes you, Danelle, and how you’ll bring what you learn back to Daycos and our community. Congratulations!

This month's spotlight celebrates our Lifelong Learners. These are the teammates who embrace curiosity, seek out new knowledge, and help others grow along the way.
This month, we're proud to recognize Trent Brunssen.

Trent was nominated for his commitment to continuous learning and his willingness to share what he discovers with others. Whether he's staying current on new information or putting new ideas into practice, he's always looking for ways to grow, and he makes sure the rest of the team benefits, too.

When asked about being a lifelong learner, Trent shared:
"I'm a lifelong learner mostly because I've never been smart enough to know everything the first time. Fortunately, every mistake is a learning opportunity, and I tend to create plenty of opportunities."

We couldn't have said it better ourselves. A willingness to keep learning, adapt, and help others do the same is what this month's theme is all about.

Ten years of Daycos4Good is worth remembering, so we’re making sure we don’t forget it.

To celebrate a decade of Daycos4Good, our employees helped create a time capsule filled with small items that hold special meaning. Inside are pieces of D4G history, memorabilia from past activities, and reminders of the people, experiences, and culture that have shaped Daycos over the years.

Now, we wait.

The time capsule will be opened in 10 years, giving us the chance to look back on where we’ve been, how we’ve grown, and the impact we’ve made along the way.

Here’s to the memories we’ve already made and the ones we’ll add before it’s time to open it again.
