Shawna Viau is a Mudlogging Technician at MCWL Paladin Geological, and she brings a drive to this job that's hard to match. She plays a vital role in monitoring drilling operations in real time, collecting and evaluating rock cuttings and gas samples so our clients can make safe, data-driven decisions on every well.

She also gives credit to the mentors who’ve shaped her career, calling fellow loggers Shana Cowart and Scott Bienvenu family, and crediting her regional supervisors for their guidance and leadership.

Above everything, Shawna does this work for her two children, so they can see firsthand what it looks like to build a future through hard work and dedication.

Not every geosteering job means being away from home every hitch.

MCWL Paladin Geological is hiring a Geosteering Geologist for a 100% remote, contract position. You'll be in the middle of active drilling, watching live geologic and drilling data, building geosteering models, and staying in constant contact with field crews while laterals are being drilled. Shifts run 12 hours, sometimes overnight, on a 10 to 14 day rotation.

What you need: at least 2 years of geosteering experience, proficiency in StarSteer (ZoneVu is a plus), and a Bachelor's degree in Geology or Geosciences (Master's preferred). Multi-basin experience is a strong plus. You'll need your own hardware and a reliable home workspace.

What you get: true remote flexibility, a rotational schedule instead of a standard week, and the backing of formation evaluation technology built on 35 years in the field. Pay is discussed during the interview.
