3.5” Steel driveshaft for a customer restoring a 55 Pontiac Chieftan. This style of driveshaft used outside clamps for the u-joints instead of snap rings (aka locking clips) and used a 2C Mechanics style u-joint in the rear which I had never seen used in a car or truck. He’s now fixed up with a new unit with the new trans yoke they needed and a 1310 x 2C conversion joint for the rear. And yes, those are bullet holes in the tube.

Well the shop is a little emptier today. After a visit to the vet this morning I found out my dog Mater was suffering from congestive heart failure and made the decision to put him to rest. He never passed up to chance to come work with me and stayed out in the shop with me even during those late nights. I’m gonna miss you a lot buddy!
