A common misconception is that knee boots were just a “reiner thing.” I used to think the same thing.
And then I really started paying attention to what our sorting horses are doing.
The speed into a turn.
The way they plant and roll back.
How quick everything happens when a cow makes a move.
It’s not slow, it’s not soft… and it’s definitely not low impact.
It made me realize pretty quickly that it’s not about the discipline, it’s about the job.
If a horse is working that hard on the front end, it just makes sense to give them a bit of protection there too.
That’s when my cow-horses started sharing my Reiner’s knee boots.
Not because I was trying to do something different…
but because I started seeing what our horses were actually asking of their bodies.
