Graves Mountain 2026 – The Final Descent. It still hits me—after 4 brutal days of climbing, digging, and shattering rock, it was finally over. We shared epic times with an epic crew, successfully checked off every mission goal, and capped it all off by uncovering the legendary Karma Pocket.

Looking back, I can still feel the physical toll. It took 4 grueling days of digging and breaking rock, but the mission was a massive success. From epic moments with great friends to accomplishing our biggest goals, discovering the Karma Pocket was the ultimate reward!

Finding Herkimer quartz in a mud pocket at Area 52. I got down into the pocket layer which was submerged in extremely thick mud. Within that pocket layer I found some nice dolomite pockets that yielded quartz crystals.

The Mineral Connection — It’s not just a name. It’s become a lifestyle. The connection that I feel to the Earth is something that can hardly be expressed in words. I’ve always found myself running to the oceanfront to feel the heartbeat of the Earth, searching the night skies for the unknown, listening to the calls of nature for answers. Mining and digging Earth’s greatest treasures has become a calling for me. I can’t get enough, I can’t stop. This is only the beginning… the journey starts here!

Prospecting for Amethyst Quartz Veins in South Carolina! 💎✨

We recently teamed up with a wonderful local family who discovered traces of amethyst while surface-digging on their property. Our goal was to help them understand the geology and track down the source veins.

We successfully uncovered two promising quartz veins producing light purple amethyst intermixed with clear and milky quartz. Geologically, this blend indicates a rich, multi-phase hydrothermal system. It is part of a larger, 350-million-year-old metamorphic system where quartz veins have repeatedly fractured and refilled—a signature characteristic of Abbeville County, home to South Carolina’s finest amethyst!

I cannot wait to head back and see what else this incredible new site has in store. ⛏️💜
