Today is World Anesthesia Day: Anesthesiology Along the Patient Pathway.

180 years ago today, the first public demonstration of anesthesia changed medicine forever. Today, anesthesiologists care for patients before, during and beyond surgery.

It is also day one of ANESTHESIOLOGY 2026, the annual meeting of the American Society of Anesthesiologists. We are proud to support ASA and the anesthesiologists who keep patients safe every day.
