What a night! 💛💫

423 people gathered for Women Leading Change - and somehow a room that big felt warm, joyful and full of connection. *I only wish I took more pics!

Deb Honor, you are such a force for good in Rhode Island. Your kindness, generosity and genuine commitment to bringing people together shine through in everything you do, and last night was such a beautiful reflection of years of that work. 🌱

So much gratitude to Kelly Nevins, the Women’s Fund of Rhode Island team and Board, and the MANY volunteers, sponsors and supporters who made this incredible celebration possible.

And huge congratulations to the very deserving Amy Romero, Representative Julie Casimiro and Beverly Wiley! 💫

One of the things I love most about my work is seeing what can happen when businesses, nonprofits, and community partners come together around a shared vision. 🌱🚲

So fun to see Bike Newport, RI’s Bari Freeman on Studio 10 with Courtney Hunter of People’s Credit Union celebrating PCU's recognition as Bike Newport’s Bike Friendly Business of the Year and talking about this Saturday’s 10-Spot Ride!

PCU is a great example of what meaningful community partnerships can look like - supporting the work, showing up, and helping make it easier and safer for more people to get around by bike.

As a proud member of the DESIGNxRI Board of Directors, I'm excited to share that we're looking for thoughtful, engaged leaders to join us as we help shape the organization's next chapter.

Over the past several years, I've had the opportunity to work alongside an incredibly talented and dedicated board and staff team. It's reinforced my belief that design is about so much more than aesthetics - it's a powerful driver of innovation, economic opportunity, community, and quality of life.

As Rhode Island's only nonprofit dedicated to strengthening the design sector, DESIGNxRI plays a unique role in supporting designers, creative businesses, and the broader creative economy. Our board helps guide the organization's strategic direction, governance, and long-term sustainability.

If you're passionate about Rhode Island, believe in the power of design to solve problems and strengthen communities, and are interested in contributing your experience and perspective, we'd love to hear from you.

☀️🌊🎶🚲What a great work week!

🚲 Just over two months ago, I made the decision to join Bike Newport because I believed in its mission.

After experiencing my first Newport Folk Festival as part of the Bike Newport team, I have an even deeper appreciation for the impact this organization has on our community.

This article highlights a record-breaking milestone: 5,148 bicycles parked over the three days of the Newport Folk Festival. That's an impressive number.

But what really stands out to me is what that number represents.

💫 It represents thousands of people choosing a different way to experience Newport.

💫 It represents months of planning and coordination. An incredible staff. Dedicated volunteers. Strong partnerships with the Newport Festivals Foundation, the City of Newport, Newport Police Department, Newport Department of Public Services, generous funders, and community supporters who believe that investing in active transportation benefits everyone.

Throughout my career, I've learned that the biggest community challenges - and the greatest opportunities - are rarely solved by one organization alone. They require partnerships, trust, and a shared commitment to something bigger than ourselves.

That's exactly what I witnessed this weekend.

Bike Newport isn't just parking bikes. It's helping people experience Newport in a way that's healthier, more connected, and more enjoyable - while demonstrating that transportation, tourism, economic vitality, public safety, and quality of life can all move in the same direction.

Congratulations to the entire Bike Newport team, our volunteers, partners, and every rider who helped make this record-breaking weekend possible. I'm grateful to be part of this work and excited for what lies ahead.

A full heart and a full notebook after another incredible Grow Smart RI Power of Place Summit. 🌱💫

This year I volunteered, represented Bike Newport, cheered on Bari Freeman during a terrific transportation panel, reconnected with old friends and colleagues, and met so many interesting people doing needle-moving work across Rhode Island.

The beautiful tribute to Scott Wolf - opened by our friend John Flaherty - was deeply moving, and the gubernatorial forum and closing reception were a perfect way to end the day.

Huge congratulations and thanks to the entire Grow Smart RI team and everyone who made the Summit happen. There is something incredibly energizing about bringing thoughtful people from across sectors together to talk about the places we’re building, the challenges we share, and what’s possible when we work together.
