Supported by veteran-focused media and real estate initiatives, we educate, inform, and help veterans build sustainable futures. Veterans For Veterans is a veteran-led organization dedicated to helping veterans and active-duty service members understand and access the benefits they have earned through military service. We help veterans navigate VA disability compensation, VA healthcare, education

benefits, and related programs by providing clear guidance, education, and structured planning tailored to each individual’s service history and medical conditions. In addition to consulting, Veterans For Veterans operates a Media Group and a Real Estate Group to further support veterans beyond the claims process. Through our media platforms, including educational content, interviews, and live discussions, we break down complex VA topics, share real veteran experiences, and keep our community informed about benefit changes and opportunities. Our Real Estate Group assists veterans with understanding and using their VA Home Loan benefits, helping them make informed decisions about homeownership, financing options, and long-term housing goals. This support is designed to complement our benefits consulting by helping veterans apply their earned benefits in practical, life-changing ways. We serve veterans nationwide and support veterans living overseas. Our team stays current on VA policies, federal regulations, and procedural updates to ensure the guidance we provide is accurate, timely, and reliable. Veterans For Veterans is not a law firm. We are a fee-based consulting organization that provides professional advisement before the Department of Veterans Affairs. Our mission is to provide clarity, reduce stress, and give veterans peace of mind, knowing they are supported by a knowledgeable team committed to their success.

Most veterans never see how often regulations, manuals, and internal guidance get updated, even though those changes can affect rating decisions and benefits in a very real way. That is why it is so important to stay informed from reliable sources and not just social media reactions.

The more you understand where the information is actually coming from, the better prepared you are to protect yourself, your claim, and your long-term benefits strategy.

When filing for an increase on a service-connected disability, the details you provide are critical. A well-written statement can clearly articulate why your condition warrants a higher rating. This example walks through how to phrase a request for an increase on a back strain, referencing the specific diagnostic code and using objective evidence like range of motion measurements from a physical therapist to support the claim.

One overlooked strategy in VA claims is symptom tracking. Daily or weekly records help show progression and severity over time, which strengthens your case during review.

Veterans for Veterans Consulting encourages veterans to document changes consistently so nothing is left to interpretation when it matters most.

By restructuring their evidence and focusing on service connection, we secured the rating they deserved. You don't have to accept a 'no' from the system. This clip breaks down why the Coast Guard was originally under the Department of Transportation—centered on maritime trade, safety, and search and rescue—and how its mission profile evolved. While law enforcement roles existed in areas like the Caribbean and the southern United States, 9/11 accelerated a broader transition toward national security and enforcement under the Department of Homeland Security. Clear context on how and why the Coast Guard’s focus changed. Watch the full episode on YouTube at Prepare to Compete.

A former VA rater explains a common gap in the claims process: veterans often don’t get consistent, end-to-end support from their Power of Attorney (POA). When key pieces—like a missing statement or medical evidence—aren’t gathered, potential service connections can be overlooked. This clip highlights why proactive coordination with a POA can make a meaningful difference and how attention to detail helps prevent avoidable denials. Many veterans assume disability percentages increase in a simple, straight line, but that is not how the system works. This clip introduces the idea of VA math and explains why moving from one rating level to the next can be more complex than just adding another condition. Understanding how severity, combined ratings, and percentage jumps actually work can help veterans better interpret their ratings and set more realistic expectations. One of the most important mindset shifts veterans can make is understanding that disability compensation is not charity or welfare. It is a benefit connected to military service and the lasting impact that service may have had on the body or mind. This clip also points to an often-missed detail: even a 0% service-connected rating can still matter because it recognizes the condition and may affect future benefit strategy.
