Most people have heard of the James Beard Awards…
But far fewer know what the James Beard Foundation actually does.
Before I asked for another Favorite Chef vote, I wanted to explain why this journey means so much to me.
The Foundation is about so much more than awards. It invests in chefs, supports restaurants, promotes sustainability, funds education and scholarships, champions food journalism, and works to strengthen the hospitality industry as a whole.
Whether my name is ever called or not, I believe that’s a mission worth celebrating.
