Every dock door is a gap in your building. When it is open with a trailer backed in, two things are working against you.

Air and weather. Conditioned air walks out, heat and dust and pests come in, and the gap around the trailer is where it all happens. In a cold storage or climate-controlled space, that gap is money leaking out every hour the door is open.

Impact. A loaded trailer weighs tens of thousands of pounds and it backs into that opening again and again. Without protection, it hammers the dock wall and the leveler.

Two products handle both, and neither is expensive next to what they protect.

Dock seals close the gap. Foam side pads and a header compress against the trailer when it backs in, sealing the opening so your conditioned air stays inside and the weather stays out. Sized for 8, 9, and 10 foot roll-up doors.

Dock bumpers take the hit. Laminated bumpers mount to the dock face and absorb the trailer impact so the building and the leveler do not. They start around 90 dollars and they save you a repair that costs many times that.

There is one product we sell more of than almost anything else, and it costs less than lunch for the crew.

Corner column protectors. The yellow guards that bolt or slip around the base of a rack upright at the end of an aisle.

Here is why they move so fast. The upright at the end of the row is the most hit piece of steel in the building. Forklifts swing wide coming out of the aisle and clip it. Pallets get set down a little short. Carts drift into it. Every hit bends the column a little more, and a bent upright is not a cosmetic problem. It is the leg holding up a loaded rack. Damaged uprights are the number one cause of rack collapse.

A protector takes the hit so the column does not. It absorbs the bump, it makes the end of the aisle visible in bright yellow, and it costs a tiny fraction of replacing an upright or, worse, dealing with a failure.

If you walk your warehouse, you already know which columns are scuffed and dented. Those are the ones telling you where the protectors go.

If you store long material, you already know standard pallet rack fights you on it.

Pipe, lumber, conduit, extrusions, tube stock, and drywall do not sit on a beam. They hang off the ends, they roll, and every upright in the middle is a post you have to load around. You end up wasting the space and handling the material twice.

Cantilever rack is built for exactly this. Open arms on one side, no front columns in the way, so you load long material straight on with a forklift and pull it just as easily. The arms adjust for height, the capacity is built to the load, and you can run it single or double sided depending on your aisles.

Everything on the rack looks secure right up until it is not.

A forklift clips an upright. A pallet gets loaded a little off center. A carton shifts three feet up and comes off the back of the rack into the aisle. If someone is walking there, a small mistake turns into an injury and a report.

New pallet rack is not the only good pallet rack.

A lot of the steel we sell is used, and for the right project it is the smarter buy. Pallet rack does not wear out the way a machine does. An upright that was rated for the load five years ago is rated for it today, as long as it is straight, uncompromised, and inspected. We check every piece before it goes back out.

Used rack makes sense when you are expanding a system you already run, standing up a second warehouse on a budget, or getting a new operation off the ground before the revenue catches up. You get the same capacity for a lower number, and you get it faster because it is already here.

Where new still wins: a specialized configuration, a specific beam profile you need to match, or a system that has to be uniform across a large build. We will tell you straight which way to go for your project. We are not trying to move whatever is in the yard.
