Tuesday, May 26th we saw 308 Head of all classes of horses as well as a light run of roping stock. We saw a large offering of Broodmares both open and heavy with foal as well as a few with a foal at their side. The top Broodmare was a grey 9 year old with Playgun on the top and Haythorn bloodlines on the bottom, she commanded $4,900. As we transitioned into the saddle horses demand was strong and so was the offering on very broke fancy finished geldings as well as a grade palomino mare that fetched $13,700. The High seller of the evening was lot 60 a classy looking 5 year old sorrel gelding that loped pretty circles, spins, slides, and is a finished cow horse. He topped the evening at $18,000. Last Tuesday, March 24th we saw 174 head of horses through the ring in North Platte. The sale felt a softer tone on riding horses compared to two months ago but quality at the top end was not as numerous as the offering two months ago either. The highlight of the evening was the broodmare offering from Lazy U. Top open brood mare prospect was $4,400 and the top mare carrying a foal was $8,200. Roping stock was in high demand with a majority of those trading $1,200 to $1,600 with an extreme top of $2,000. We look forward to seeing everyone at our next sale on Tuesday, May 26th.
