Starting Dec. 9, North Port will be moving to Accela Citizen Application (ACA) for online permitting. This is a software now being used by cities and counties throughout Southwest Florida. Accela will greatly streamline our permitting process, to make things easier for customers.

The Development Services Department is closed to the public Dec. 5-9 for staff to implement the new Accela permit software and to accommodate construction activities within City Hall.

Beginning Dec. 4 at 4 p.m. and ending Dec. 9, no inspections can be scheduled or completed, and no permitting work can be processed.

What does the switch to Accela mean for North Port?

➡️ Individuals or organizations applying can make an account online.
➡️ You can apply for permits online and see the status of your application via the portal.
➡️ Users can order inspections and pay fees in the portal.
➡️ A training video is available at NorthPortFL.gov/Permitting. The link to the Accela platform will be available Dec. 10.
➡️ Staff is still glad to assist in person.
