🔎 KNOW YOUR PEST — CHEMICAL & BOTANICAL BED BUG TREATMENTS

When someone discovers bed bugs, one of the first questions we hear is:

“What are you going to use to get rid of them?”

The answer isn’t always the same.

Every infestation is different.

At Just Pest Solutions, we provide both chemical and botanical treatment options, selected according to the situation and used according to product labeling.

🌿 WHAT DOES “BOTANICAL” MEAN?

Botanical insecticides are products that use active ingredients derived from plants or naturally occurring sources.

“Natural” does not automatically mean harmless or appropriate for every situation, however.

That’s why proper application and following the product label are important regardless of the type of product being used.

🧪 WHAT ABOUT CONVENTIONAL CHEMICAL TREATMENTS?

Professional pest control products can provide effective control when properly selected and applied.

The important question isn’t simply:

“Is it chemical or botanical?”

It’s:

“Is the product appropriate for this pest, this location and this treatment strategy?”

🔎 IT’S MORE THAN THE PRODUCT

Successful bed bug management isn’t simply about what comes out of the sprayer.

Inspection, preparation, application, monitoring and follow-up all matter.

Our job is to evaluate the situation and determine the appropriate approach.

❤️ EDUCATION. HONESTY. SOLUTIONS.

That’s what we strive to bring to every customer.

Part 5

🔎 KNOW YOUR PEST — BED BUG MYTHS

Let’s clear up some common bed bug misconceptions. 🪳

❌ MYTH #1: Bed bugs only live in dirty homes.

FACT: Bed bugs can infest clean homes, apartments, hotels and other environments.

❌ MYTH #2: Bed bugs only live in mattresses.

FACT: They can hide in bed frames, box springs, furniture, baseboards, cracks and many other protected areas.

❌ MYTH #3: If you don’t have bites, you don’t have bed bugs.

FACT: People can react differently to bed bug bites, and some people may have little or no visible reaction.

❌ MYTH #4: One spray always solves the problem.

FACT: Bed bug control often requires inspection, preparation, treatment and monitoring. Eggs and hidden insects can make control more complicated.

❌ MYTH #5: Throwing away your mattress solves the problem.

FACT: Replacing a mattress doesn’t necessarily eliminate bed bugs elsewhere in the room or home.

❌ MYTH #6: You can always see them easily.

FACT: Bed bugs are small and can hide in extremely tight spaces.

🔎 THE BOTTOM LINE

When it comes to bed bugs, guessing can make the problem harder to manage.

Identify first. Treat strategically. Monitor afterward.

That’s the approach we believe in at Just Pest Solutions.

Part 4

🔎 KNOW YOUR PEST — THE HITCHHIKER PEST

🧳 HOW DO BED BUGS GET INTO YOUR HOME?

One of the biggest misconceptions about bed bugs is that they simply appear because a home is dirty.

That’s not how it works.

Bed bugs are excellent hitchhikers.

They can travel on or inside:

🧳 Luggage
👜 Bags and backpacks
👕 Clothing
🛋️ Used furniture
🛏️ Bedding
📦 Other belongings

A person can unknowingly bring home a bed bug—or even an egg—without realizing it.

🏨 HOTELS AREN’T THE ONLY PLACE

Bed bugs can be encountered in many environments, including homes, apartments, hotels, dormitories and other places where people spend time.

And remember:

Bed bugs don’t care how clean your home is.

They care about finding a host and a place to hide.

🚫 WHAT SHOULD YOU DO?

If you discover bed bugs, don’t panic.

Don’t immediately throw away your mattress or furniture.

Don’t move infested items from room to room.

And don’t start spraying every chemical you have under the sink.

Instead:

🔎 Identify the pest
🏠 Have the area inspected
📝 Follow a treatment and preparation plan
👀 Monitor for activity

At Just Pest Solutions, we help homeowners understand what’s happening and determine the appropriate treatment approach.

❤️ NO SHAME. JUST SOLUTIONS.

Part 3

🔎 KNOW YOUR PEST — WHY CAN’T I FIND THE BED BUGS?

“I’ve checked my mattress three times and I don’t see anything!”

We hear this a lot.

And there’s a reason.

🪳 BED BUGS ARE HIDING EXPERTS.

Their flat bodies allow them to hide in very small spaces.

They may be found in:

• Mattress seams
• Box springs
• Bed frames
• Headboards
• Furniture joints
• Baseboards
• Cracks and crevices
• Upholstered furniture
• Other protected areas near their feeding source

And as an infestation develops, bed bugs can spread beyond the immediate sleeping area.

🔎 THAT’S WHY INSPECTION MATTERS.

Finding a bed bug is only one piece of the puzzle.

A thorough inspection looks for evidence of activity, including:

🪳 Live insects
🥚 Eggs
🟤 F***l spotting
👻 Shed skins
🩸 Blood spots
🏠 Potential harborage areas

❌ DON’T RELY ON BITES ALONE.

Some people react strongly to bed bug bites.

Others may have little or no visible reaction.

And bites can resemble those caused by other insects.

So if you’re finding unexplained bites, the best approach isn’t to assume—it’s to investigate.

🧪 WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?

At Just Pest Solutions, we evaluate the situation and develop a treatment approach based on what we find.

Depending on the circumstances, treatment may incorporate chemical and botanical products, along with other integrated pest management techniques.

The objective is to address the infestation—not simply spray the areas where you happen to see a bug.

❤️ NO SHAME. NO PANIC. JUST SOLUTIONS.

If you think you may have bed bugs, give your local family-owned pest professionals a call.

🐀 SEEING SIGNS OF RATS? DON’T WAIT!

Norway rats are excellent diggers, climbers, swimmers, and survivors—and once they find a reliable source of food, water, and shelter, they can quickly make themselves at home.

🚨 Signs you may have a rat problem:
• Droppings around the home or garage
• Gnaw marks on wood, plastic, or wiring
• Scratching or scurrying sounds, especially at night
• Burrows around foundations or structures
• Greasy rub marks along walls or frequently traveled areas
• Holes or gaps where rats may be getting inside

🐀 But getting rid of the rat is only part of the solution.

At Just Pest Solutions, we also offer rodent exclusion and preventative maintenance to help identify and seal the openings rats are using to get inside.

For homeowners who prefer a more humane approach, exclusion can be a great option for preventing future rodent problems by keeping them out in the first place.

🏠 Don’t just treat the symptoms—address the entry points!

🐀 NORWAY RATS: THE BIG, BROWN RAT YOU DON’T WANT MOVING IN!

Norway rats (Rattus norvegicus) are one of the most common rats found around homes and businesses. Despite their name, they are not actually from Norway—they originated in Asia and spread throughout much of the world.

These rats are excellent diggers and are often found around foundations, crawl spaces, basements, garages, sheds, dumpsters, woodpiles, and other areas where food, water, and shelter are available.

🔎 A few things you may not know about Norway rats:
• They can squeeze through surprisingly small openings—roughly the size of a quarter!
• They are strong swimmers and can travel through wet areas and drainage systems.
• They are primarily nocturnal, so seeing one during the daytime can sometimes indicate significant activity.
• Rats have continuously growing front teeth and need to gnaw to keep them worn down.
• They reproduce quickly, which means a small problem can become a much larger one if left unchecked.
• Rats can damage insulation, wiring, stored belongings, and structures while searching for food and nesting material.

🏠 HOW DO YOU KEEP THEM OUT?

Effective rat control isn’t always about putting down bait or traps and calling it a day.

At Just Pest Solutions, we believe in addressing the reason rats are getting inside in the first place. Our services can include inspection, control, exclusion work, and preventative maintenance to help protect your home or business from future rodent problems.

For customers who prefer a more humane approach, exclusion can be an especially important part of the solution. By identifying and sealing entry points, we can help prevent rats from getting inside rather than continually dealing with the same problem after they enter.

🐀 If you’re seeing rats, finding droppings, hearing scratching, noticing gnaw marks, or discovering possible entry points, don’t wait for the problem to grow.
