Earth Forensics is a global professional consulting firm providing geologic, hydrologic, and environ Earth Forensics Inc. was started in 2009 by Drs. W.

Richard Laton and John H. Foster to create a professional consulting business separate from their academic pursuits at California State University Fullerton. Dr. Laton and Dr. Foster are both applied geoscientists whose professional interests include landslide analysis and mitigation, groundwater sampling and protocols, environmental and geohazard forensics and image and data acquisition and management for the geosciences. The company is particularly engaged in the field of geoforensics, working with the legal community on cases ranging from environmental contamination to rockfalls and landslides. Our expertise and academic foundations give us the credibility and communication skills necessary to both technically describe and clearly explain to the court the important issues. Several former students work with us and the flow of ideas and interests between the academic and professional business environments forms a creative collaboration that successfully solves problems and identifies logical courses of action.

🌎We are excited to welcome Roberto Ruiz, GIT as a Project Geologist!

Mr. Ruiz has experience in environmental research, groundwater resources, groundwater modeling, GIS, and data analysis. His prior experience includes PFAS remediation pilot studies, water sampling, PFAS breakthrough data analysis, report figure preparation with the Orange County Water District, and mathematics instruction at California State University, Fullerton. He is currently a graduate student at California State University, Fullerton pursuing a master’s in geology.
