The Jennings County Economic Development Commission is excited to offer a paid summer internship opportunity for students ages 16–21 who are ready to gain real-world experience and develop professional skills.
Interns will work directly with our team on marketing initiatives, community engagement, and content creation through our Join Us in Jennings program.

The South Central Indiana Talent Region (SCITR) has officially completed its first Regional Arts & Culture Plan, marking an important milestone for economic and community development in Jennings County and the surrounding region.

This plan is the result of a year-long, multi-county collaboration focused on strengthening quality of place, supporting local talent, and expanding cultural opportunities that attract residents, visitors, and workforce alike. Arts and culture play a key role in building strong, competitive communities—and this roadmap helps guide future investment and growth.

Temperatures are expected to drop to around -10° tomorrow morning, and travel advisories remain in effect for emergency personnel only.

Due to the ongoing winter weather, the City of North Vernon will be closed Tuesday, January 27th, 2026, for all non-essential offices and employees. Updates regarding additional closures later in the week will be shared as conditions change.
