A lot of coaches are launching communities right now, and I'm a big proponent of that.

But here's what I see when I go inside most of them.

They're being used as a megaphone.

It's a one-sided conversation, and honestly, it's not even a conversation at all.

That's not how a real community works.

I think of my own community very differently.

It's a living room.

Sit down, pull up a chair, get a cup of coffee, get a cup of tea.

Let's actually be in conversation together, and let me show up fully to help you and to give back, because the world of business has been good to me and this is how I pay it forward.

When you build that kind of space, members feel it instantly. They engage, they trust, they stay.

So if you're launching a community, stop the one-way pitching and start cultivating a two-way conversation. That's the shift that changes everything.

When a coach hands me anything written completely by ChatGPT, like a lead magnet, I throw it away.

Not because AI is bad.

Because the world is exhausted.

Every inbox is full of robotic emails. Every feed is full of templated posts. Every lead magnet sounds like the last ten lead magnets.

People can feel it now, even when they can't quite name it.

And here's the thing.

People want to do business with people they like and trust, and you can't trust a voice that doesn't sound like a real human being.

Your voice, your phrasing, your stories, your point of view, those are the things AI can't replicate.

That's the moat you actually have as a coach.
So use AI to organize, to outline, to draft if you must, but never let it be the final voice your audience hears.

Your weird, specific, imperfect, human way of saying things is the entire reason someone will choose you over a thousand other coaches saying the same thing.
