Leaders from the Massachusetts School-Based Telebehavioral Health Project, a pilot program funded by the Department of Public Health, recently held an inaugural symposium highlighting the importance of collaborative partnerships, policy advocacy, and a commitment to equity in overcoming barriers to mental health services in elementary and secondary schools.

The event featured presentations by representatives from state agencies, school districts, and behavioral health service providers, including Dr. Funmi Aguocha, Psy.D, Chief Operating Officer of The Brookline Center; Avery Brien, MPP, Manager, Behavioral Health Initiatives, Bureau of Community Health and Prevention, MA DPH; Captain Christopher Bersani, Psy.D, Deputy Regional Administrator, HRSA; Carolyn Castro-Donlan, Ph.D. (She/Her/Ella), Project Director of the School-Based Telebehavioral Health Pilot; and Jill Clark, MPH, Director, Division of Child/Adolescent Health and Reproductive Health, Bureau of Community Health and Prevention, MA DPH.
