NCDC is celebrating Hispanic Heritage Businesses! Today we celebrate Encanto Scoop @ The Docks. Previously Mi Encanto Food Truck, they have established a physical location right at Howard T. Brown Park. Now, in addition to their usualy menu, they serve delicious ice cream in unique bubble waffle cones. Even though the weather is getting cold we still recommend that you take the trip out to try their sweet selection. You can also follow them on facebook at Encanto Scoop at The Docks

NCDC is back again to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with another business. Son D'Licias has been serving up delicious and delectable dishes down at Howard T. Brown Park and has quickly become a local favorite. Owner, Victor Martinez, enjoys serving up his Puerto Rican style dishes and his love for his craft is apparent in every bite. This incredible barbershop has been serving the Norwich community stylish cuts and memorable service ever since. Small business in Connecticut.

Yes, we have insurance, fiserv, and monsters of defense in the aerospace and submarine industries.

But small business accounts for 99% of all business entities in CT, and employs just under half of the state workforce.

With the leadership of Congressman Joe Courtney, the American Rescue Plan Act funded post pandemic recovery here and the Norwich Community Development Corporation (NCDC) made sure our small businesses benefitted.

The Norwich post-pandemic recovery has occurred at a greater rate than any of the states Top 20 largest cities when comparing the rate of change in the Connecticut Town Economic Index (CTEI) as calculated by the CT DOL.

It’s the commitment and resilience of hometown businesses and the support of our elected leaders that have insured the pandemic is behind us.

NCDC is celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month by highlighting our local Hispanic Heritage Businesses in Norwich, CT. Ta' Deliciozo, a food truck operated by Anibal Cintron and Jannette Velez, serves up delicious smoothies, Acai bowls and tropical juices. This food truck launched in 2023 and has been quenching thirst in nutritious ways ever since. Earlier this year they became finalists for "CT Best of" in the food truck category. Anibal and Jannette have been active and impactful members of the Norwich community for years from volunteering at events to leading events. They continue their mission to support the community through their food truck. You can check Ta' Deliciozo out on Facebook, Instagram or find them at Howard T. Brown Park in Norwich most days.
