I am a retired Law Enforcement Officer of sixteen years. I served 14 years with the Geauga County Sheriff's Office, retiring in 2010 due to an illness. In 2019 I was placed on the organ transplant list for a double lung transplant. On December 8, 2019, I received my transplant. I have named my business after my donor, Jose E Gonzalez Jr., known to his family as Joey and his friends as Gonzo.

I want to thank everyone that attended the open house of my studio, Joey's Gift. I had a wonderful turn out and met a lot of great people. Congratulations to the drawing winners and thanks to Diane Wozniak, Artisan for her donation of the beautiful dichroic fused glass earrings and necklace.

For those of you that don't know, the studio name, Joey's Gift-Stained glass studio, was chosen to honor my lung transplant donor. This was a gift that I can never repay. It was my honor to meet Joey's (birth name Jose, aka Gonzo) brother Macho and his son Louis yesterday at the open house. Gonzo and Macho may not be biological brothers, but they are brothers in the truest sense.

Joey's Gift is not a Gift Shop, it is a working Stained-glass studio. I teach classes, offer studio time, repairs and commission work.

Please stop by sometime, it would be great to see you!
