📊 Let’s talk P&L!
You may have heard the term "Profit & Loss Statement" (or P&L), but what is it actually telling you?
Simply put, your P&L gives you a snapshot of how your business performed over a specific period of time—whether that's a month, quarter, or year.
It breaks things down into three main pieces:
💰 Income — what your business earned
💸 Expenses — what it cost to operate your business
📈 Profit or Loss — what remains after those expenses are subtracted from your income
But your P&L is more than just a page full of numbers. Looking at it regularly can help you notice changes in income and expenses, identify trends, compare different periods, and get a better understanding of how your business is performing.
Your P&L won't answer every financial question about your business—but it's one important piece of the bigger picture.
💙 Do you regularly look at your P&L, or is it one of those reports you’re still learning to understand?
