Actually fixed this system instead of just selling him a new one!
Only a 7 year old system!

Even though the weather didn’t cooperate with us, we were able to replace a bad inside TXV That was failing to regulate the refrigerant, pull and clean the evaporator coil that was dripping condensation due to a mixture of dirt and bent fins from the previous cleaning another company made, replaced a cracked drain pan caused by an over torqued screw also from a previous company, and replaced the outside TXV that was completely clogged!
System was a 2019 Trane System that was never registered by the original installer which would have made all these parts under part warranty, but instead the homeowner had to cover the parts.

The best part of this story was that during the heavy downpour God saw it fit to grant us a few hours without rain so that we could open the system and re-solder the parts in.

The second thing that makes this so rewarding is that the homeowner had another company, not offer to fix what we fixed to get the system operational, but to quote them a complete system to replace this rather new system!

We did give him multiple options, but this option replacing all the failing parts and cleaning/straightening the fins saved him many thousands of dollars and brought the system back to like new condition!

And a quick gripe to all of you techs out there that are just wanting to cut back on time or cost: when you braze your copper connections in you better be flowing nitrogen simultaneously because both of these expansion valves are very sensitive and the black char that is created when you don’t use nitrogen while brazing, clogs these sensitive valves up and causes extensive repairs for your customers down the line.

Performed an isolation leak test on a system that had such a small leak that we couldn’t locate it with a leak detector or bubbles.

Success the condenser held, each line held, but the coil was leaking extremely slowly!

Enough to cost this homeowner lots of $$$ refilling every year yet none of the other companies offered or attempted to find the leak! They just kept filling it and she kept paying and being frustrated!

So glad we could be the company to end her frustration and get her back to a cool house!

Saved this customer so much $$$$! HOA said no to installing a mini-split in this townhome… so instead of paying $5-6,000 for a mini split we installed a direct vent and drain for his heat pump portable unit that had him all in for under $1300 including unit, vent and drain! For an insulated 2 car garage he couldn’t go wrong!

This is why we give options! I love saving people money!

Another customer taken care of! 15.2 SEER2 Install!
Original system was never registered by the builders and defaulted to 5 year warranty!
Had failure at 8.5-9 years in!

Fully registered now!
Best warranty in the business!

This burns my ass! You can be an honest business, take care of your customers and still make a decent living. But when I go to a second opinion on this home where they told her she had a bad outdoor motor, capacitor, and a bad indoor board on a system that is only a few years old!

Hearing that after they gave her the following estimate they were pricing a new system threw up red flags!

I normally don’t call out companies by name but this kind of work gives us all a bad name!

So what did we find ACTUALLY WRONG?

The capacitor was bad, we changed it out!
The motor was good, the board was good!
apparently when doing diagnosis the tech must have removed the control wire for the reversing valve but put it in the wrong connection when putting back together so we corrected that!
Also we were able to pull and clean the blower and coil all for a fraction of the estimated cost!

AND NO WE DIDN’T QUOTE A REPLACEMENT SYSTEM!
