School’s back in session soon, but that doesn’t mean we should abandon time with nature.

Every teacher can be a nature teacher! In this article, author and Children & Nature Network co-founder Richard Louv explains how educators can join the children and nature movement at their schools and beyond.

The Vitamin N Challenge is going on now. We’re challenging you – educators – to incorporate nature into your classroom this year. Join the children and nature movement and see the difference.

Is it really worth the grief to get into it? After struggling with this for a while now, my passion for natural gross motor de...

This weekend was such an incredible experience. I had the privilege of sharing the microphone with 3 amazing play warriors at the Defenders of Play Bootcamp/Special Edition. I have been facilitating trainings for early childhood professionals for 16 years and although I do not have the airline miles as some of my colleagues, the attendees were so very attentive to my thoughts and words. I would like to challenge them all to be authentic to their programs and to build relationships with all those involved in their programs. Remember, we are all on a journey and perhaps your road hasn't curved yet, pay attention to the signs and be ready to put it in drive when you see them...I am humbled and blessed to be able to call all those whom attended friends. This was the 4th year this conference has been held. It continues to be an event that brings Defenders together and when they leave, they are more than just colleagues. Thank you to Dan, Heidi and Denita for being a huge part of the success of this year's event, you inspired all those who attended. Those of you that missed it...mark your calendars for the first full weekend in Aug...we will see you then!
