🌲 Prepared forests start with prepared people.
Our Sonoma team recently gathered for a safety and project muster with our CEO.
Before heading into the field, our crews come together to discuss safety, review upcoming work, and make sure everyone is aligned. These conversations help us deliver quality forestry services while keeping safety at the forefront of everything we do.
As we continue through Wildfire Preparedness Month, we're proud of the dedicated professionals who work every day to help create healthier, more resilient forests.
👏 Thank you to our Sonoma team for your commitment and hard work!

🌲 What are ladder fuels?
Despite the name, they're not actual ladders.
Ladder fuels are plants and vegetation that allow a wildfire to climb from the forest floor into the tops of trees.
Imagine a ladder:
🌱 Grasses and pine needles
⬆️ Shrubs
⬆️ Small trees
⬆️ Large tree canopies
When these layers connect, fire can spread much faster and become far more intense.
Reducing ladder fuels through thoughtful forest management is one way we can help make forests healthier and more resilient to wildfire.
Swipe through (or take a look!) to see an example of what ladder fuels can look like in the field.
