Kheystone Management operates a gorgeous, park-owned, 70-horse equestrian facility in the Oakland Hills near the Oakland Zoo. Tucked off of Skyline Boulevard is a spacious hidden gem with stunning views and a fantastic team.
We are seeking reliable and energetic candidates who are comfortable working outdoors, and are excited to work with horses (we are always happy to invest in training folks willing to learn with can-do attitudes). Preference will be given to those able to start immediately. This is a part-time position with early start and stop times.
Day-to-day tasks include but are not limited to:
- cleaning and bedding 15 stalls
- feeding/throwing hay
- fly mask and/or blanketing service (taking fly masks and blankets on and off horses)
- handwalking and/or taking horses to and from their turnouts
- checking/refreshing/cleaning water buckets/automatic waterers
- checking/emptying muck buckets throughout property
- cleaning/blowing aisleways
Other tasks may include low level maintenance around the property such as weeding, watering landscaping, watering and/or dragging, arenas, repairing stalls/paddocks, etc. Handyperson skills appreciated but not required!
Folks must be detail-oriented, motivated, and comfortable working on their own and with a small team. Caring for these horses is our highest priority and we are a happy and hardworking team — kindness and respect is paramount!
