OAKLAND, MD — AAUW-Garrett Branch is marking a major milestone: 80 years of advocating for equity, progress, and opportunities for women in Garrett County. Congrats on two successful years, Mother Maiden Crone Apothecary & Bodywork Shop!

Two years.

This fall marks 2 years of Mother Maiden Crone Apothecary & Bodywork Shop, and it’s hard to believe how quickly that time has gone. Some days it feels like I just opened my doors, and other days it feels like I’ve been called to this work my entire life.

For those who are new here… hi, I’m Tiffany.

I’m a wife, mom, farmer’s/carpenter’s wife, business owner, and lifelong student. My family is the heart behind everything I do. They are my “why,” and every class I take, every certification I earn, and every new service I introduce is rooted in my desire to better serve the people who trust me with their care.

Over the last two years, this little dream has grown from one cozy treatment room into two beautiful locations serving both my local community and visitors to Deep Creek Lake. What started as massage has evolved into something much bigger; a place centered around healing, education, movement, and helping people reconnect with their bodies.

My work is never just one style of massage.

Every session is customized by blending:
• Flowing Swedish techniques to calm the nervous system
• Deep tissue work where your body needs focused attention
• Passive and active stretching to improve mobility and movement
• Clinical techniques when appropriate, including cupping and Gua Sha

Along the way I’ve expanded my practice to include Reiki, and I’m honored to now be a Reiki Master Teacher, along with sound baths, facial massage, body treatments, and continued education that allows me to offer a truly integrative approach to wellness.

But here’s something many people don’t know…

I’m constantly studying. Constantly learning. Constantly asking, “How can I help my clients even better?”

The next year is going to be one of growth.

You’ll see new education, new services, new opportunities for movement, more community classes, and an even bigger focus on helping people not only feel better on my table; but move, recover, and live better every day.

I’m not ready to share all of it just yet…

But if you’ve been following along, you probably know I don’t dream small. 😉

Thank you to every client who has trusted me, referred a friend, shared a post, purchased a gift certificate, or simply cheered me on. Because of you, Mother Maiden Crone has become so much more than I ever imagined.

Here’s to the next chapter. I truly believe the best is still to come. 🤍

Still one of our favorite branding projects!

After many (many) requests, new merchandise is FINALLY here. It's been two years since the shop did new shirts, and I love how these turned out. New shop beanies should be here soon too, just in time for those cooler evenings. Huge thanks to Alice and the whole crew at East West Printing in Davis, WV!

Congrats to our awesome client, Oakland Volunteer Fire Department on their new website! Please consider supporting this amazing organization.

We hired the local creative agency CurlyRed built a website that’s hotter than a 3-alarm fire... but thankfully way easier to put out. 🚒🔥

The brand new Oakland Volunteer Fire Department website is OFFICIALLY LIVE!

Check out what we’ve been up to, learn how to join the team, or just stare respectfully at pictures of shiny red trucks.

(Don't worry! No firefighters were harmed in the making of this site).

So this one might ruffle some feathers.

We are currently witnessing a huge influx in AI-generated artwork that small businesses and non-profits are using to promote for upcoming events. These graphics all have a very similar look. Ask anyone under the age of 25, and they will probably refer to it as “AI slop” or better yet, “boomer art.”

We get the temptation. We've heard the reasons why (there's no marketing budget, AI graphics quick to create and publish, etc). But the backlash is already here. Whether you like it or not, using AI-art to promote your organization or event leaves an impression, often a negative one.

Did you know that our agency will do our best to work within your budget AND we even take on pro-bono work for several non-profits? We have been creating design work, including event posters, for Our Town Theatre for years, because we believe in what they are doing and the good they bring to Oakland, Maryland. And we feel the results are way more unique and beautiful than anything AI-generated.

At CurlyRed, we are committed to handcrafted design. We believe that the human touch is essential in creating designs that are not only aesthetically pleasing but also resonate with our client’s audience. We forgo the use of Artificial Intelligence in our design process, ensuring every concept and final piece is imbued with the creativity and expertise of our designers. This approach allows us to deliver designs that are truly original and tailored to the Client’s specific needs.

In short, talk to us before your next event! We may be able to help.

Featured CurlyRed Client: Mother Maiden Crone Apothecary & Bodywork Shop

We are very excited for our long-time client, Mother Maiden Crone Apothecary & Bodywork Shop, who recently opened a second location at Timber Rock Village! Timber Rock has now introduced massage and spa services as part of their growing resort-style experience at Deep Creek Lake.

Tiffany Rounds, Licensed Massage Therapist, brings thoughtful care, professional expertise, and a calming presence to each session, creating a peaceful experience designed to help clients unwind. Massage sessions may take place in a private wellness space located within the Timber Rock Village fitness center, beside The Reserve outdoor pool area. Select in-cabin massage opportunities may also be available, bringing the spa experience directly to your vacation home.

After working with Tiffany on her parent branding, and many other marketing pieces, including label design, CurlyRed helped Mother Maiden Crone create a new variation of her branding to reflect this Deep Creek Lake location. We love how the colors show off the palette of the lake, and convey ultimate relaxation. We hope Tiffany and her business continue to thrive!
