I started my Indigenous Peoples' Day by saying f**k Christopher Columbus from a Ohlone land.

Today I say goodbye to the Oakland Coliseum. The place that's been my home since I grew up loving the Raiders (you know before they and the NFL betrayed us). The place that's been my home for my team that I own. The home of A's games. The Black hole. The first soccer game ever in the US. Being able to be a Black disabled woman who has ownership in a pro sports team by MYSELF is a big deal. Today I celebrate @ roots team and staff and fans and community. Today I am thankful that I've been part of history. Today I say goodbye to the Oakland Coliseum that's been part of The Town for 60 year. Today I will soak it all in. Sharing some memories I'll never forget. See you there.

As a woman in sports I need you to understand how important the Valkyries team is off the court too. The women behind the team have done INCREDIBLE work. The Valkyries have changed the landscape of the WNBA in just two years. Their valuation alone helped players finally get a minimum of six figures for starting salaries. We are in the Finals because women worked hard on and off the court. We are in the Finals because the community feels seen at every game. No matter what happens we already won. Go VALKS!

Women understand the power of accountability!

He had me pinned in a corner. I squirmed and did all I could to make myself smaller. Not in importance or strength, but to escape. I didn't want to have s*x. But he did. Even though we knew each other, my heart raced as I thought about what would be next. And the next could be my forever. I kept dodging advances while saying no. But luckily he heard me. He listened. He walked away. He apologized profusely. I was lucky. But many women, more than you realize, are not lucky. They are r*ped. They are s*xually ass*ulted. They are groped. They are humiliated. They are harmed.

Thinking of those who identify as women who are triggered, tired, frustrated, angry, sad, irritated with how women are treated. Even though these systems tend to not support us I want to remind you to keep being amazing!
