Our April 2026 National AT Awareness Day Theme: “Assistive Technology. Everywhere. Everyone.”

Assistive Technology (AT) isn’t just wheelchairs and screen readers. It also includes tools, devices, software, remote monitoring, and everyday technology such as smart home devices and wearables, that empower people of all ages and abilities to live, learn, work, and participate fully in every aspect of life.
Why do we say everyone? Every person on the planet will either need assistive technology for themselves or know someone who does. Most are using AT right now! Our goal is to build AT awareness now, so everyone knows about it before they need it, and NO ONE goes without!

Happy New Year from all of us at HapWare 🎉✨

As we step into 2026, we want to celebrate the blind and low vision community and the incredible impact you make every day through resilience, leadership, and connection. Accessibility is not a nice to have it is the foundation of true inclusion, and we are proud to build alongside you.

2025 was a huge year for HapWare. We made major progress with ALEYE, including beta testing and collaboration with the National Federation of the Blind, the Fox Family Foundation, and vocational rehabilitation centers. We also took exciting steps forward on real world usability by working toward integration with the Meta Ray Ban glasses to support a more seamless wearable experience.

ALEYE is being built to help make nonverbal communication more accessible in real time through haptic feedback so users can feel key cues like gestures, facial expressions, and body language.
The biggest news is on its way! Preorders open January 4. If you preorder you receive 20% off and become a Founding ALEYE!

To stay in the loop, follow our page and join our newsletter for updates, launch details, and behind the scenes progress.

Here’s to a year of progress, partnership, and more accessible moments for everyone. 💙
