Harvest #124 has begun, and it's moving fast. The valley smells like fermentation again. Fruit is arriving at w**eries across the region, and this year Ghost Block's harvest has come earlier than almost any we've seen.

An early spring heat wave pushed budbreak ahead of schedule. Then an unusually early bloom in April met rain and swinging temperatures, disrupting pollination in several blocks and leading to one of our lightest yields in years. The good news: drying winds followed close behind, keeping the fruit exceptionally clean, and we didn't lose a single day to frost all season.

What the vines lack in volume, they're making up for in character. Early berry chemistry is showing real concentration, with higher natural acidity that promises freshness in the finished w**es.

Harvest opened July 24th with fruit for sparkling w**e, followed by our first Sauvignon Blanc pick on August 6th. Most recently, August 20th, marks our third Sauvignon Blanc pick of the season at MorgaenLee Vineyard; this same fruit wasn't ready for picking until September 5th last year.

This fruit came from Block 7, a dry-farmed Sauvignon Blanc block planted in 1978. These vines have never known irrigation, relying on rainfall alone for nearly five decades. The same April rain that complicated bloom also replenished the soil, giving us the moisture to dry-farm our entire acreage this season.

We've also wrapped Pinot Noir and Chardonnay for Elizabeth Rose, with Cinsault, Grenache, and Syrah coming in this past weekend for the Rosé, plus Albariño for Oakville W**ery.

Every season, our team hand-tends more than 320,000 vines. This one has asked more of everyone, and we're deeply grateful to the teams at Yount Mill Vineyards and Napa W**e Company for their hard work through a compressed, demanding timeline.

An early, concentrated vintage is already taking shape. We can't wait to see it through to the glass.

Our 124th harvest is in full swing as we recently brought in Chardonnay from our Yountville Block House Vineyard!

Named for the Kentucky-style structure built by George Yount in 1836, Block House Vineyard carries both historical significance and an important role across our estate.

Set on deep alluvial soils with the cooling influence of San Pablo Bay, the property spans a range of microclimates across its acreage. This natural variation allows us to grow multiple varieties with intention, each block farmed to highlight its character and contribution.

Block House provides the fruit behind the w**es, from bright, expressive whites to layered, approachable reds shaped by this single, expansive site.

We are eager to see the beautiful w**es made from the 2026 harvest!

There is something special about being poured a glass of w**e by someone who grew up among the vines. Morgaen Hoxsey Pickett, our President and Director of Sales & Marketing, is a 5th-generation owner and the heart behind so much of what makes Ghost Block Estate W**es feel like family.

Growing up in Napa Valley was special, but she didn’t realize just how idyllic it was until she left home. In 2015 she returned to the family w**ery with purpose. Morgaen is actively involved in the custom crush side of her family’s business, interacting with Napa W**e Company clients and working on special projects. The opportunity to work closely with her sister, Kendall, and her father, Andy, however, gives her role at the company special meaning. “As the fifth generation, Kendall and I are determined to uphold our family’s legacy and to continue what my Dad started when he founded Napa W**e Company over thirty-years ago.”

She saw the world and came home certain. This valley, these vines, this family. This is where she was meant to be.

124 harvests in, and the excitement never gets old.

Sauvignon Blanc kicked things off last week, and just like that, the season we have been building toward all year is finally, beautifully here.

Stay close. It only gets better from here.

Our 124th harvest is here, and no one feels it quite like our very own Andrew Hoxsey, a fourth-generation grape grower who learned to T-bud a vine before most kids learned to drive.

Andrew has spent a lifetime reading these vineyards, understanding their rhythms, and building something worthy of the legacy handed to him. From his early days alongside his grandfather, Andrew Pelissa, to transforming a historic Oakville w**ery into Napa W**e Company in 1993, every decision has been made with the next generation in mind.

Now, with daughters Kendall and Morgaen carrying the torch, harvest feels more meaningful than ever. Every year is a reminder of why he dedicated his life to this land in 1984 and never looked back. The grapes are almost ready, and so are we! 🍇

Harvest has arrived! 🍾

Our team was thrilled to welcome the first Sauvignon Blanc of our 124th harvest at our Blessing of the Grapes on Thursday, August 6th, 2026.

This is the moment we've been anticipating since early bud break. With harvest arriving slightly earlier this year, it's all hands on deck as we bring in the bounty that will become the 2026 vintage.

Cheers from our team and family at Ghost Block Estate W**es! 🍇
