Local 4032 is proud to announce the appointment of our new Chaplain, Pastor Tim Bromhead.
Tim is deep rooted in Ocean City and its community, having been born and raised here, always being involved with youth sports and youth groups. Tim also served honorably as a Patrolman with The Ocean City Police Department for over 20 years, before retirement, responding to thousands of significant emergency calls in the community throughout his career. Through all of this, many of our members have either worked alongside Tim, been coached, or been apart of his Youth Groups throughout their lives, which make him the perfect replacement for recently retired Rev. Jameson. Tim is also a husband, father, grandfather, and Pastor of Chapel By The Sea. Please join us in welcoming Tim to The OCFD Family!

On June 18, 2026 The Ocean City Fire Department held a swearing in ceremony for our 3 new hires, upon graduation of Atlantic County Fire Academy Career Class 26-1. The academy spanned several months and included recruits from Atlantic City, Pleasantville, Margate City, and Cape May.
As tradition, their final PT session was a run over the 9th Street Bridge, to The Boardwalk, ending with a high rise hose pack carry to the roof of Gardens Plaza. Congratulations to all!

Local 4032 would like to congratulate B-Platoon EMT Winston Roberts on his well deserved retirement from The Ocean City Fire Department, after over 41 years of honorable and selfless service to The City of Ocean City, its residents, and visitors.
Winston became an EMT in 1985 and joined the City of Ocean City in 1987, first as part of the Public Works Department then briefly as a police dispatcher, and finally on 6/1/87 became a member of the Ocean City Rescue Squad. Over the years, he served in many roles, including EMS Chief from 1994 to 1998, and remained a constant presence as emergency medical services were absorbed by the Fire Department in 1996.
Throughout his career, Winston was assigned to B-Platoon, Ambulance-1, where he responded to thousands of emergency calls, providing skilled care, compassion, and reassurance during some of the most difficult moments in people’s lives. His dedication to helping others didn’t stop when his shift ended in Ocean City.
Over the years he has also worked at other EMS agencies such as Atlantic City and Hamilton Township Rescue Squads. Winston is always ready to help when someone is in need.
His impact extends far beyond the calls he answered. As an EMT instructor, he trained and mentored countless EMTs and firefighters, including many retired and current members of the department. His knowledge, patience, and commitment to teaching have helped shape generations of emergency responders throughout the department and region.
While this is bittersweet in the fact that we will miss his expertise, and one of a kind personality day to day, we wish him and his family the best in his next chapter. We know he will not be a stranger! Congratulations R-5 on your well earned retirement!
