Hi Everyone!
First, thank you so much for checking out my page!
I am 20 years old and turn 21 on May 31. That would be way more exciting if I liked alcohol or enjoyed gambling.
I am visiting my sister for the summer and, as much as I love spending time with her and her family, I would like to make some extra money to enjoy everything SoCal has to offer.
My sister recommended babysitting and I jumped at the opportunity. So far I have been able to meet and help a dozen families in the area. I have LOVED every minute of it.
A little bit about me:
I have been babysitting since I was 16. I started when I lived in North Carolina and continued while I lived in South Carolina and Washington state.
I have been through the Red Cross babysitting certification course, which includes Heimlich maneuver and CPR training for all ages, and I have been certified as a lifeguard (not in Cali).
I love music and yoga. I also love to share my passion with kids of all ages.
Basically, I am a kid at heart as I really enjoy myself when playing with kids. I have my own nerf guns to bring, I love to color, puzles, building forts and towers (and knocking them over of course), going to parks, playing tag. I played softball, soccer and ran cross country in high school. I also tutored in Spanish and Math. (Unfortunately I am not fluent in Spanish, but have enough of an understanding of the language to help novice learners advance.)
I have taken kids to the beach and helped supervise at Legoland so that it can be a fun experience for everyone. (I have my own Legoland Annual Pass so I can get you free parking and discounts on food and merchandise. ;) )
I am really good at braiding hair, to toot my own horn, for anyone who has children that enjoy having their hair done.
Please don't take my love of having fun with kids as being too lenient with them. I have strict standards for their behavior while I am with them to include being respectful of others at all times, following their parents rules while they are gone, and cleaning up their messes before moving on to another activity.
I prefer not to watch TV with kids while I am with them, only because I don't particularly like TV myself. However, I am always game for a good Disney movie or Paw Patrol.
I am happy to feed kids, but my cooking skills are limited to making a killer grilled cheese sandwich and pancakes.
I am very comfortable with all kinds of pets; furry or scaly. My sister has two large dogs and a cat. (I prefer the poisonous or slithery ones stay in their own terrarium.)
If you need a pet sitter I would love to help you out as well!
My rates can vary but the base pricing is as follows:
$10/hr for one or two children
$15/hr for 3 or more
$20/day for pet sitting (I do not charge for having animals in the house while babysitting)
I can babysit in your home or my sisters if necessary (she has two small children and has a very kid friendly home).
