As though mosquitos werent already bad enough…. Florida is now making headlines for Dengue Fever outoreaks.
Florida has always been at risk for mosguito-borne illnesses such as West Nile virus , zika, and Chikungunya.
It is now reported that Florida has the largest Dengue out break in the U.S.
- Mosquito Control has always been about staying comfortable when enjoying the outdoors but, now it’s about prevention.
Highland pest control offers many treatment plans to protect your space. Call us to reduce mosquito populations by targeting adult mosquitos and their breeding areas.
We want our community to stay protected!
Here are some helpful tips for prevention:
• Eliminate Standwater - dump out even small amounts of water weekly

• Cover up - wear long sleeves and pants when outdoors.
If you have concens, you can contact FL. Dept. Of Health to check for active transmission numbers in your local area.

Highland is proud to be a sponsor of Men of Distinction (MOD).
MOD is a young men’s mentoring program started by Tyrone Smith 15 years ago. It began as a program to mentor young men of the high school football program. For the last 6 years, Jeff Whitlock has been the director of MOD. The program continues its mentorship but, could see a need for community service.
Its goal is to encourage civic engagement in our community. MOD has partnered with Code Enforcement to find properties in need of yard improvements.
The MOD crew members provide free services to the elderly, disabled, and veterans in need. If you would like to know how you can help please contact Jeff Whitlock at 863-623-7187 or [email protected]. ☺️

Meet Ben Greene
Hi, I’m Ben Greene, and I’m proud to be part of the Highland Pest Control team.

Outside of work, I’m a husband and father of three, and family is a big part of who I am. I also enjoy giving back to the community through my involvement with Our Community Table. Every Saturday, I help cook and prepare meals that are distributed throughout our local community to anyone in need. Being able to serve god through serving others, work alongside great volunteers, and help provide a hot meal to local families is something I truly enjoy and value.

When I’m not working or volunteering, you can usually find me on the water. I’m an avid saltwater flats fisherman and enjoy spending my free time exploring Florida’s waters and chasing fish on the flats.

And, of course, I’m a proud Black Lab owner—so there’s rarely a dull moment at home!

I look forward to getting to know the customers and communities I serve through Highland Pest Control and bringing the same dedication, reliability, and personal care to my work that I bring to my family and community.
