Happy ! Whether we like it or not, tax season is always right around the corner. Join us and Metcalfe Forestry Co. at Jay's Sporting Goods in Ga***rd to talk all things taxes. Learn to keep more money in your pocket following a timber harvest, navigate the plethora of forest property tax programs, and more! We'll be there with light refreshments from 1-3p (note that this is when Daylight Savings time ends!). Please RSVP at this link (https://www.michiganforests.org/event/timber-tax-workshop-w-metcalfe-forestry/) so we can prepare. See you then! ☀️🌳🌲🪾🍂

Happy ! As we make our way through fall tree planting season, listen to MFA President Dr. Emily Silver on why matching species to site is important for watershed restoration success. ☀️🌳🌲🪾💧

Happy ! We had a lovely time at our Annual Celebration this weekend in the greater Ga***rd area. One of the Saturday workshops was with long-time MFA member and Michigan Forests magazine contributor Ned Caveney at his old stomping grounds in Pigeon River Country State Forest. Enjoy this story of Ned being a part of the release of pine martens during wildlife restoration work in the mid-1980s. ☀️🌳🌲🪾🍂

Great Lakes Mushroom Company is really cool and fun, and we loved working with them for our Annual Celebration. 🍂

Happy ! We've had an active week:

🌳 ReLeaf Michigan tree planting with 60+ Kingsley Area Schools students and volunteers at their high school property in east Grand Traverse County.

🌳 Presentation with Plant it Wild on how HOAs and Native Plants can coexist at the Mills Community House in Benzie County. This was recorded and will soon be available online for viewing.

🌳 Guided hike with MMLC at an urban forest parcel they've been managing for the last couple years. We were exploring an area adjacent to Benjamin F. Davis park, south of Lansing in Ingham County.

We love connecting with forest enthusiasts statewide! ☀️🌳🌲🪾❤️
