Latest statistics show that Oklahoma companies who work with Brits drastically increase productivity and their bottom line.

⬇️
Happy April Fools' Day 😆
Although… not entirely fiction.

One Oklahoma company I worked with saw a 463% increase in investment accounts. Another experienced a major turnaround in employee retention and engagement - which, as we all know, is priceless.

The start of Q2 is the perfect time to take a clear look at your business: teams, morale, planning, profits.

If your Q2 could use a boost… let’s grab a cup of tea and chat ☕

I presented "Succession Planning for Rebels" today at The Verge OKC

Founder-dependent companies are fragile companies. We discussed where their obstacles and bottlenecks are, and how to free themselves from that. A succession plan is really a blueprint to freedom, when done correctly. It removes friction points, builds confidence and allows you to build something bigger than yourself, which will continue into the future.

We looked at 3 keys areas: knowledge, systems, leadership. Like the 3 legs of a stool, you need all 3 to save your seat 😆

Do you have a question about Succession Planning? Message me!

I was talking about celebrating wins with one of my clients... and her way of doing it is so good, I have to share with you!

She keeps a bottle of champagne in her fridge door, ready to celebrate the next win.

Each time she opens the door, she is reminded that the next win is coming. She doesn’t wait for huge wins; even small wins count. She is training her brain to look for wins, and reminding herself every day that they ARE coming.

What are you doing to celebrate your wins?

PS I can help you GET these wins :) Let’s talk!

Is 3.6% a win?

Yesterday I served as an election official at my local precinct. On the ballot: Oklahoma City Mayor.
71 people voted. That’s 3.6% turnout. (And not a single person under 40, but we’ll come back to that another day.)

If your team operated at 3.6% engagement…
If only 3.6% of your employees showed initiative…
If 3.6% felt ownership of results…
Would you call that success? Nope, you’d call it a crisis.

Thriving organizations don’t happen by accident. They happen when people feel connected, heard, and invested.

➡️ And yes, I love helping companies build that kind of engagement. If your culture feels a little… 3.6%… let’s talk.

In the meantime, I’m developing my voting/ice-cream truck concept. Let’s bring the vote to your door - no excuses and with added sprinkles! 🍦

Are there any entrepreneurs or leaders reading this who did NOT deliver newspapers as a teen?

I’m getting my notes together to speak about my entrepreneurial journey at The Verge OKC Pitches, Pizza & Pints tomorrow night, and I thought back to where I started.

At 13, with a dawn paper route in my English village. If you have delivered papers in England, you will know this is not like the American movies, where people throw paper from car windows on to driveways… nope, you carry your bag and walk up to each door and stuff it thru the letterbox!

From there, I went on to have numerous jobs, and I have learnt from each and every one of them. Learning from the ground up has always been so helpful to me.

How about you? What humble job taught you the most? How have these experiences shaped your career success?

Only 5% of employees understand their organization's strategy. (More yikes stats below).

I’ve sat in, and facilitated, enough planning sessions to know this pattern well:
Most strategic plans don’t fail because of a lack of vision. They fail because there’s no rhythm.

In music, the sheet music isn’t the performance. It’s the starting point. What makes it work is timing, coordination, and someone keeping the tempo so everyone comes in together. Organizations aren’t any different.

Strategy without rhythm looks like:
🔹 Too many priorities launched at once
🔹 Decisions made, but not reinforced
🔹 Teams unclear on timing, ownership, or sequence
🔹 Everyone playing to the beat of their own drum… or hiding at the back of the orchestra and not playing along at all!

When leaders treat strategy as a one-time event instead of an ongoing concert, even the best plans lose momentum.

Here are the stats (ClearPoint Strategy, Sept 2025):
🔹 67% of strategic plans are never fully implemented
🔹 90% of organizations fail to execute their strategies successfully
🔹 Only 5% of employees understand their organization's strategy
🔹 85% of leadership teams spend less than one hour per month discussing strategy.

Is your strategic plan noise - or music people can follow?

As Faith No More Epic-ally sang: “You want it all, but you can't have it”. And they were right.

As we kick off 2026, many of us are planning and making audacious goals. If you are like me, you may be getting waaaay too carried away by what is possible to achieve in a 12 month period!

I’m reining myself in and focusing on a couple of life and business areas. What is your main area of focus for 2026? (Or just Q1?) Get specific!

We may not get it all in 2026, but let’s plan on getting as close as we can!

“Can we also wash your car for you?”
That was the unexpected question I was asked when I took my car in for an oil change last week. Um… yes, please?! That one small, thoughtful extra made my day in a hectic Christmas week.

Doing the lil’ extra is what I do for my clients every single day.
You might hire me for a planning session - but if we discuss a news article, a trending industry topic, or a relevant podcast, I’ll send you the link afterward. Not because it’s required… but because it matters.

It’s these small, intentional gestures that build real connection.
They’re what make people feel heard, seen, and truly valued.

What lil’ kindness has warmed your heart recently?

Had a great time with old & new friends volunteering at Pet Food Pantry of Oklahoma City yesterday! We organized donations and prepared for the next distribution event to Oklahoma’s low-income seniors, veterans, disabled, and unhoused neighbors.

Pet Food Pantry of Oklahoma City were one of the first recipients of my Ripple Effect program. Each month, I donate a high-impact workshop, team training, or strategic consult to a local 501(c) nonprofit making real change. If you know a mission-driven organization that could use leadership or operational support - or if that’s your organization - nominate at: bit.ly/ripple-effect-ok

If you would like to donate to the animals you know are ALWAYS on Santa’s nice list: https://www.petfoodpantryokc.org/donate

Merry Christmas, everyone!
