OPIA Tulsa! We have some amazing speakers lined up the rest of the year! I am loving 2026.

This Thursday join us when journalist J.C. Hallman speaks.

J.C. Hallman is the author of 7 books and articles for GQ, Harper’s, The Nation, The New Republic, and numerous other publications.

Since shifting to newspaper journalism in 2025, Hallman’s investigative work has won numerous awards, helped to change Oklahoma law, and become the subject of two documentary films now in development.

He will be speaking about when a case deserves a second look and how using media can jar loose sources.

This weekend, the Oklahoma Private Investigators Association was honored to host our 2026 Annual Conference at the Hyatt Regency in downtown Tulsa. On behalf of the OPIA, we want to extend our sincere gratitude to each of our outstanding presenters who dedicated their time, knowledge, and expertise to help educate and inspire investigators from across Oklahoma.

A heartfelt thank you to:

• Brian Smith for sharing valuable insights through Missing Persons Case Studies.

• Nancy Phelps and Steve Massey for providing critical training on Narcan Certification, Overdose Response, and Community Emergency Resources.

• Isaac Peck for his presentation on Private Investigator Liability & Risk Management.

We are so excited for the 2026 Oklahoma Private Investigator’s Association Conference!

We have an outstanding lineup of speakers covering missing persons investigations, OSINT, liability and risk management, DNA in criminal investigations, trauma-informed investigations, and more.

We also have a speaker update and are thrilled to welcome Dr. Maggie Zingman—trauma psychologist, trauma survivor, mother of Brittany Phillips, and cold case specialist. Her unique perspective and experience will be an incredible addition to this year’s event.
