What does creative health mean to you? Have you ever looked at creativity as part of your overall health? 🤔
Take a moment to consider if you see yourself as a creative individual and if you view creative health as an essential component of your life, both personally and professionally.
For many years, I wasn’t encouraged to embrace my own creativity. The academic, scientific world I grew up in was quite binary, with a clear division between the logical, scientific left brain and the artistic, creative right brain.
It seemed as if these two aspects of myself couldn’t coexist.🙇🏼♀️
But as I journeyed through my adult life and career, I came to realize that creativity isn’t limited to the arts or other’s definition of creativity. Creativity and Creative Health are simply doing things for the joy of doing them.
We don’t have to have a target, goal, or win at creative health. We simply need one place in our lives that we can transcend the pressures of performance, rules, and linear ways of thinking and doing, and step toward non-linear, joyful pursuits—just for the sheer joy of doing them.
Creativity is a powerful force that can manifest in numerous forms, whether it’s in the kitchen, through the written word, in poetry, in business problem solving and innovation or expressed through the use of your body or hands, like with fitness, dance painting, gardening, etc.
Embracing that I am a creative has not only enriched my life and brought me immense happiness, but it has also contributed significantly to creating a more well-rounded, multi-dimensional health practice.
When you give your thoughts, ideas, dreams voice and action, you are immediately putting creativity and joy into the world, and you are putting more of you into the world too! Isn’t this a magnificent way to connect with the world around you? ❤️
I encourage you to take some time to ponder your creative health and explore the creative aspects of your life. Share your thoughts and experiences in the comments below – I’d love to hear about what creative health means to you and how creativity has influenced your career and leadership journey. ✨
