Did you know that only 7% of America's entire caloric intake comes from sugar sweetened beverages? This includes ALL soft drinks, sweetened waters, sports drinks, fruit juices etc. 93% of our calories come from other places...

I'm in Orlando at the American Beverage Association meeting listening to a great discussion about beverage taxes. It seems that in every state where this issue has been brought up, it's been done so by democrats...c'mon guys!

At the Oklahoma Tax Commission for a meeting...their AC is out. The legislature really needs to give them some money to fix it.

The Oklahoma Supreme Court is holding hearings on State Insurance Commissioner Kim Holland's legal challenge this week. If this bill is struck down by the Court--special session in an election year. I tremble at the mere thought of that. Let us know what you think about the Commissioner's challenge.

The Oklahoma Pork Council did a survey of producers about the most important issues facing the industry. Their number one issue is animal health- which comes as no surprise to the industry, but may come as a shock to members of special interest groups like PETA and the Humane Society.
