We started to see some hotter temperatures this week in OKC! The sunshine is a relief after days of rainfall, but did you know summer can be just as dangerous as winter?

When it gets hot in OKC, it gets HOT. This creates a potentially dangerous situation for our neighbors who are experiencing homelessness. As the temperatures continue to rise this summer, our clients are at risk for overexposure to the sun leading to heat stroke, dehydration, increased exposure to insects, and other serious health problems.

Our Day Shelter will continue to serve as a place that people experiencing homelessness can visit to escape the heat 7-days-a-week. We serve an average of 400 folks each day and we are currently in need of insect repellent, chapstick with SPF, Benadryl, Tylenol, aloe vera, and antibiotic ointment.

Please consider donating items or hosting a drive with your office, family, friend group, or faith community. Donations can be delivered to our campus daily.
