The Oklahoma Department of Libraries shared the original 1968 filing paper from when Senator Jim Inhofe first filed for the State Senate! What a cool treasure from the State Archives!

Saddened to hear this news. Senator Inhofe served in the Oklahoma House of Representatives from 1966 - 1969, the State Senate from 1969 - 1977, Mayor of Tulsa from 1978 - 1984, the United State House of Representatives from 1987 - 1994, and the United States Senate from 1994 - 2023.

Former United States Senator from Oklahoma Jim Inhofe has died at the age of 89. He was the longest-serving U.S. senator from Oklahoma.
