The beans are being officially spilled! We bought a building in Okmulgee right across from the Orpheum 😃 Mithril Adventures is coming soon! If you’re into tabletop gaming (MTG, D&D, Warhammer, etc.) and/or love specialty coffee, you can get both! We will also be carrying our freeze dried goods here as well.

We are still beekeeping and growing things 🙂 This is going to be a huge focus for us as a couple, along with our business partner, right now.

Aster. One of a few last opportunities available in the fall for bees to gather food for the winter. Ours is very short and hugs the ground. Don’t be fooled into thinking it’s a w**d! Also, be careful if you’re barefoot outside. The butterflies and bees are bouncing all around this stuff 💜

We got a real monarch after being teased by many viceroy this year! So happy to see it 🤗

We know we’ve been quiet lately, we just have a new venture coming up that’s kind of a big deal so our energy is there at the moment. It’ll be a few months, but it’ll be great! It’s still kind of a secret 😬 I’m sorry! 😆

We’re only getting about 20 pounds of tomatoes per week now. Bees are good. Chickens are surviving the heat as well as they can. Mom is making them ice water now and then. All is well on our little farm!

This mama is by the house, but there are many of her relatives in the hoophouse doing the same thing. She was HUGE right before laying this egg sac. She’s still kinda big so you can only imagine! Anyway, just a quick update On the status of our lovely spider mamas😊

Tomatoes have slowed down a bit. I think our determinates have definitely peaked for the season. The heat is also a factor.

One of the swallowtail caterpillars decided to stay on the fennel plant. The chrysalis is now empty! Looks like a successful metamorphosis! There is another baby one eating away, but I didn’t get a pic. 🦋

We have begun roasting all the things for our salsa. I’m starting with 100 pounds of tomatoes and then I’ll see where that leaves us. Pretty sure we have a lot more than that 😬

My garden is overrun with mama spiders 🕷️ (We call them that because they get big and pregnant pretty quickly). They’re catching some grasshoppers bigger than they are! I had to get a pic of this one. She’s the only one I’ve left strung across aisles because it’s near a spot I don’t really need to check. I’ve made the other ones rebuild their webs if they ventured across walkways.

We sold all the best tomatoes to our local restaurant, Twin Hills Cafe, so we canned the 30 pounds or so that were damaged somehow. This is just crushed tomatoes. It’s 3 rows deep. We’re going to make spaghetti sauce out of it soon!!

Back from vacation! We went to the hoophouse to check things out. We have Swallowtails! I think something happened to the first one I found 🥺 but these 4 are just thriving 😁 I hope they stay well and have plenty to eat. Can’t wait to see them! 🦋
