Bat droppings in an attic usually mean a colony has been overhead for a while. Guano piles under the roost site, so by the time it's visible, the bats have often used the space for more than one season.

Our technician found droppings concentrated under the roost, staining and saturation in the insulation below, and entry points at the roofline and gable vents.

Guano can harbor the fungus that causes histoplasmosis, which changes how the cleanup is handled. And because bats are protected, exclusion is scheduled around maternity season so no flightless young are sealed in.

Landscape rock against a foundation is prime ant real estate. The stone holds heat, traps moisture underneath, and gives a colony protected space just inches from the house.

What our technician found on this call:

🐜 Heavy trailing along the foundation line
🐜 Ants massed on and under the rock, not just crossing it
🐜 Activity points to a nest against the structure rather than out in the yard

A colony this size doesn't appear overnight. They build under the rock for months before anyone notices them inside.

🕷️ Meet one of the most misunderstood spiders: the brown recluse.

Brown recluses are shy by nature and would rather hide than bite, but they can become a problem when they take up residence inside your home. They often hide in dark, undisturbed areas like closets, attics, basements, garages, and storage boxes.

If you're seeing one, there's a good chance there are more nearby. A professional inspection can help identify where they're hiding and reduce the population before it becomes a bigger issue.

🐜 Think you have termites? It might actually be carpenter ants.

Unlike termites, carpenter ants don't actually eat wood! They tunnel through it to build their nests, which can still cause significant damage over time.

If you've noticed large black ants or piles of sawdust-like material, it may be time for an inspection.
