A little hidden away and made for discovery... 🌿

The new “Secret Garden” playground at Pembroke Hill is complete!

Centered around a green hill and circuit walking path, the space weaves together play, exploration, natural materials, and plenty of greenery to create a playground that feels like its own little world.

Working alongside Mega KC through Progressive Design-Build made this one especially collaborative and it’s pretty fun to look back at our renderings and see how closely the finished space reflects the design along the way.

We’re excited for the students who get to explore it!

Designing for every season. 🌾🍂

As summer gives way to fall, some of our favorite plants are just starting to show off!

Ornamental grasses (especially native varieties) bring color, texture and movement to a landscape while also providing valuable habitat and seasonal interest that lasts well beyond fall.

A few of our favorites are starting to put on a show right now! 👀

From sketches to reality... the Liberty Police Department Expansion is underway!

One of our favorite parts of the design process is seeing different disciplines come together to create one cohesive vision. From our early hand graphics and digital renderings to construction documents, each step helps communicate and refine the outdoor spaces alongside the architecture.

Working collaboratively with Hoefer Welker, our site design and linework were brought into their architectural renderings - giving the team a complete picture of how the building and landscape work together.

Now, we can’t wait to see that shared vision take shape in the field! ✏️🏗️

Today we get to celebrate the people behind the work! 🌿

Whether our people are in the studio, out in the field, or somewhere in between, we’re grateful for the talented team that brings creativity, dedication, and a whole lot of collaboration to everything we do.

Happy Labor Day from Landworks Studio!

Tomorrow, Erica is headed to Wichita for the Kansas Recreation and Park Association Women’s Leadership Summit! 🌸

Landworks Studio has been proud to attend and support the Summit since its beginning in 2019, and it continues to be an event we look forward to each year. We always walk away with fresh perspectives, meaningful conversations, and new connections within the parks and recreation community.

With this year’s theme, Bloom, we’re especially looking forward to a day centered around creating space for growth - both personally and professionally.

If you’ll be at Botanica tomorrow, be sure to say hi to Erica! She’s looking forward to reconnecting with familiar faces, meeting new ones, and soaking up another great year of the Women’s Leadership Summit.

Sneak Peek 👀

We’re excited to share an early look at the City of Lee's Summit Government new Joint Operations Facility!

The new facility brings critical public safety services together in one coordinated campus designed to support the community’s continued growth. It houses police and fire dispatch, fire administration, emergency operations, and training.

The official ribbon cutting is still to come, but these beautiful photos were too good not to share. We’re looking forward to celebrating the completed project and everyone who helped bring it to life!

Today, on National Amelia Earhart Day, we celebrate the courage, curiosity, and adventurous spirit of one of Atchison, Kansas's most inspiring daughters.

We had the privilege to help the Amelia Earhart Birthplace Museum envision the outdoor spaces surrounding her historic childhood home, where Amelia explored, imagined, and dreamed alongside her sister, Muriel.

By enhancing the landscape, we had the opportunity to help extend her story beyond the home itself, creating meaningful spaces that connect visitors to the experiences that helped shape a future aviation pioneer.

We're proud to play a small part in preserving Amelia's legacy and inspiring future generations to dream bigger and explore farther.

We're honored to have partnered with Kansas City Parks and Recreation and the surrounding community on the transformation of Yvonne Starks Wilson Park.

Projects like this remind us that great parks are about more than new amenities - they're places that celebrate history and create gathering spaces for communities. Congratulations to everyone who helped bring this vision to life, and thank you to KC Parks for trusting us to be part of such a meaningful project. 💚

This Independence Day, we celebrate a historic and remarkable milestone as our nation marks 250 years of independence.

As you gather with friends, family, and neighbors this weekend, we hope you have the chance to enjoy the public spaces that make celebrations like these possible.

Wishing you a safe and happy Fourth of July from all of us at Landworks Studio! 🇺🇸🎆

A milestone worth celebrating! 🚔

Earlier this spring, we had the opportunity to celebrate the ribbon cutting of the new Police Headquarters in Chillicothe, Missouri. We're excited to share a few photos from this important community investment.

Landworks Studio was proud to serve as the landscape architecture consultant as part of the project team, helping create a site that complements a modern facility designed to support the officers and staff who serve the Chillicothe community every day.

Projects like this reflect the power of collaboration and a shared commitment to creating functional, welcoming spaces that strengthen communities for years to come.

Congratulations to the City of Chillicothe, the Chillicothe Police Department, and the entire project team on bringing this vision to life.
