Sometimes it seems like you just can't win. Don't quit. Keep moving forward. Easier said than done most days. I won't be easier, but it is usually just that simple.

I have been saying for years that "common courtesy and common sense aren't that common anymore". I was taught growing up to treat others as you want to be treated, if you don't have anything nice to say don't say anything, keep your hands to yourself, and always keep your word. Society has changed, and not for the better, in my opinion. Staying connected with your family, having family meals where everyone ate together and shared their experience, and just being nicer was common, and I miss it. We are only here for a limited time, and these days most of what I find on a screen isn't positive and doesn't add value to my life. We have come a long way, but we have also lost a lot that had value. We need to find a balance.

I am 55 years old, and I still don't know what I want to do when I grow up. I do, however, have a pretty good list of what I don't want to do. I would like to talk to young people about life and money, and maybe help them avoid some of the mistakes I made. I worked most of my life never really considering where I wanted to be, well, now. It is hard to get where want to go if you don't know where that is exactly.

Some days are better than others. Sometimes you just need to keep moving forward, one step at a time. Set a goal, and focus on that. Not always easy, but it doesn't have to be complicated.

Your mental health is no joke folks. And be considerate of others, no matter what you might see on the outside. It is entirely possible that the person that is really struggling is the one the one you least expect, the one that is always OK, always taking care of everyone else. Sometimes that comes at a cost, and you don't always understand what that is until the bill comes due. Don't forget to take care of yourself, you are the only that really can.

Dealing with a health issue is not fun at all, especially trying to get appointments with specialists. Second appointment today for some irregularity in my vocal chords, good images of what is and isn't happening, but still no real answers. Take care of yourselves my friends, especially as we get older. I am very lucky for the other side of 50 to be in good overall shape, but dealing with this, which I don't think I have any control over, really doesn't sit well with me. Pretty sure it is not serious, but lets not temp fate.

One of the hardest things I have ever had to do is accept a few of these myself. It is a little disappointing to accept that everything you worked for, everything you built, doesn't add up to where you need to be. Admitting it is hard, making the change and moving on is harder. It sure isn't easy, but it is that simple

Finally, a weekend with sunshine are warm temperatures. Sometimes a little a fresh air and sun, with some good food, good music, and good company is just what the doctor ordered. I hope you all enjoy the great weather, and whatever else makes you happy, and have nice, relaxing weekend.

A lot has changed in the last 6 years, and not for the better. The economic and financial changes have challenged the best of us. But the worst part is, in my opinion, society has degraded to a dangerous point. Where relationships die over a difference of opinion, people were fired over personal medical decisions, and violence against others is justified if they are not on your "side". I don't much care for it. So I am going to try to live my life the way I always have, trying to be honest and do the right thing, and not taking part in the drama and BS that seem to make the world turn these days. We are only here for a little while, I am going to try and enjoy the ride as best I can.

It is amazing how adversity can change your whole perspective. Sometimes you are so focused on the road ahead that it takes a minute to realize that you missed your exit. Take stock of who you are, where you are, and where you REALLY want to be. We are only here for a little while, don't waste a minute.
